A liberal world

Calculus is hard.

Distinguishing the difference between an IQ score and an academically acquired skill seems to be even tougher for some....

... and I'm just curious which you found harder, integral or differential calculus, as long as were on topic!

I have never taken a calculus course, so I couldn't say.

Integral or differential? I've never undertaken a calculus course that separates them. Google is really NOT your friend, is it?

The question becomes moot when dealing with triple (or n) integrals, differential equations dealing with interpolation/numerical analysis (Runge–Kutta comes to mind), vectors/tensors (how about solving a 5 * 5 Jacobian with partial differential equations in each to solve a metric), ...

You're lucky... after taking the organic chemistry and biochem series, now every time I hear mention of organic produce, I'm seeing ring structures in my head, and trying to imagine what an inorganic, silicon based vegetable would taste like... those courses can ruin you for life

Oh, and working with Christoffel symbols is very difficult.

Dude, Couch up there couldn't solve a couple of linear equations, never mind something as advanced as vector analysis or tensors. He's a Google enabled wannabe.

OP capably demonstrating the flaws of a closed mind: one side all good, other side all bad. Foolish but common lack of the power of critical thought.

It's par for the course around here....I sometimes think of the GB like a small room with a dozen or so Ann Coulter's and a dozen or so Chris Matthews trying to have a rational group discussion.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! IDK which inverse function is harder for you coachMENSA? LMFAO!

Me saying Jacobian and partial differential in each is not accurate. A Jacobian is just that, and may not have a partial differential equation in it, such as a Kronecker delta.

Careful, we get into a discussion of Fourier series and periodicity, and the next thing you know we'll be into a whole discussion of menstruation here!

Yes, harmonics is a huge subject.

memories of discussions with Time Warner, and their explanations of why they needed to dig up my yard for a bigger cable to get internet and HD service...

That's nice and all.

Have fun with your pissing contest.

i like mint magnums too. they're a bit on the chilly side, being ice cream n'all, but they're still creamy, chocolaty, minty good.

Just think, if the world had been built by liberals.....

Fire as a tool of human progress would never have happened... instead, it would have been regulated out of human usage, as being too dangerous, and destructive... a cause of global warming to be stricken from humanity. Further, the injuries incurred from the use of fire would have been the subject of endless litigation by trial lawyers, rendering it legally unsustainable.

The wheel, had it been discovered at all, would have to be square by design, to accomodate the union requirements of all permissible tooling of the time, and would have been rigidly mounted to the frame to meet OSHA guidelines.

The lever would have been fulcrumless, pending patent review and redistribution of credit for the idea among every human being at the time, not just for the 1%.

The screw would have been a quadrilateral rectangle, so all sides were even, no side having more or less advantage over any other. Fairness in all things.

The pulley would have been rendered irrelevant, since the rope for it would have gone up in smoke, used in a water pipe. Those who did so would have been fed to the wolves..see fire above.

I won't even speculate as to the gun, and fireworks... chuck a spear and be thankful it doesn't come with a requirement for a picture on the side of it depicting the long term damage the Surgeon General will one day be all over!

Sometimes I can't believe how stupid people are. I can't. It make me want cry.

GET EM SEAN!! GET EM!!!

Not me, Wok's your man for pure mathematics. He surpassed me years ago. Saying that, my 13 year old could kick the fuck out of Couch on just about any subject, it would seem.

This thread turned out about 100000x better than expected! I'm so pleased.

Liberalism (lite for Socialism) IF anyone has been paying any attention is the house of cards that is falling down in Europe....

Nanny state, redistribution is a _ucking failure. Unpaid liability (union pensions) are killing every state. Frenchy election, Socialist party..... will be bowing too the soviets

Hey, I wanted to say thank you for censoring out the salty language. As a woman, I'm just really grateful that my delicate sensitivities weren't subjected to that.

Frizzle, I also really liked how you chimed in right away with the in-depth drug knowledge.

Awesome team effort, guys!

Wok, I  you. I mean, I always have, but mmm, math.
