Swords, Sex and Sorcery (D20 casting call)

I had to look it up. Very nice steal, wouldn't have considered it to be that :)

By the way, one of you logical people is going to have to suggest grouping up. At 8 Wis, Xarkl wouldn't come up with that at any point in this Cycle of Creation.

I hadn't intended it at first, but as I was writing the scene the voice of that census officer from the start of the game popped in to my head, one thing led to another and I stole the idea of the hospitality papers from later in the game.

Well, after grabbing the maps and city-guides, lets head for breakfast together and the subject of grouping up to find our fortunes can naturally arise from that.

Especially if our two most outlandish companions join us at breakfast - it is not hard to imagine them entering the same eatery, being shunned by the humans as they try to find a seat but hearing Tarik or Kat calling out with a laugh "Plenty of space over here, come join the rest of us freaks"

Quite were we go from there I don't know. I'm not sure that Tarik has any real plans, as yet - for him just the travelling is reason enough to be here. I suspect others have more avaricious goals, however.

one way or another they are all together. At least for the time being. I think it went nicely, without everyone just lumping together. I approve.

Now we just have to stop the guys fighting over the girls.

Or the guys and Kat fighting over the other girls ;)

Scully, being Scully, would probably find some way to make himself out to be the victim of a gangrape and then blackmail them with it for no other reason than he thought it would be funny.

I'm thinking of dropping out of the thread. The balance is still shifted too much toward men, and the more I look at it I'm not really adding anything. Scully's just kind of there and I don't really see any good way to work him into the narrative better. I thought it would be a fun challenge to play a character of limited means but fast wits, but with the other assembled characters he doesn't really fit in. There's nothing particularly remarkable about him in comparison to the others and unlike them nothing I have him do seems to make any kind of impression.

I don't know, I just feel like kind of a fifth wheel.

Awww no, I'm really sorry we didn't really respond to your post. I really did mean to respond to the juggling, but I kinda got side tracked with the bum squeezing.
Stay until we get into it some more and we'll try harder to include you.
Lexy wants you to show her more about city life ;)

My dear fellow, with the ladies currently interested only in each other all of us menfolk in the large group are a 3rd, 4th and 5th wheel.

I am sure we will get our chances later. For now, concentrate on the friendly interaction - thus far you are the only one of our companions who has actually gained Tarik's attention by demonstrating a useful talent.

I too regret not responding to the juggling display better but things rather moved ahead (I blame the girls, nagging me to move us to the inn faster so they could get a room ;) )

****

Incidentally:

"Allow me to explain" he cut in, before any of the others could respond. "It's made from grapes, mostly..." he laughed. Then he stood. "I propose a toast! And amongst my people, you must drain at least half your glass at the end of a toast or cause offence."

To anyone with even an ounce of sense motive skill, all of the above is a blatant lie.

Or should I say, utter bull ;)

That's only part of it. Again, he just doesn't seem to fit in amongst the group. He seems rather... low-fantasy in comparison.

I'll stick around a little longer to give it a shot, but I need to find something to do. I had hoped his little demonstration would tip off those who had seen combat that he's not telling them the truth about his past, or at least not the whole truth and maybe that would prompt some character interaction but it seems I'll have to step up my game a bit.

Us not picking up on that was our omission, not yours.

And honestly, we need at least one normal human around to keep us freaks in line when the going gets tough. ;)

Plus if you abandon us we are going to be proper stuck when should we hit a locked, trapped door :)

You do realize he's going to be extremely smug about that. Though if it hasn't come up by then, at that point it will be pretty damn obvious he hasn't told them the truth about his past.

Heh, I think the only people who are telling the whole truth about their past are Xarkl (who has no guile) and Kat (who has no shame ;) )

True. And at least the party can rest easy knowing that there's an ocean between Scully and the guy who wants to kill him. Which means the only thing they have to worry about from Scully is those six words you never want to hear from the party daredevil: "Hold my pack and watch this."

I hope you're all keeping your character sheets updated with the gear you pick up aka the maps, and the money you spend :p

Not that I obsess over details like that...... *shifty eyes*

I also realised my alignment was wrong, i originally intended to play my character as a confident stern, slightly aggressive woman and as such was Chaotic Neutral. Think I changed my mind!
I hope everyone prefers this way I designed the character :)

I didn;t know we had a price, yet.

*grins* Well, I think you know how I feel about confident aggressive women, but i also like Lexy just the way she is :)
