The republicans war on women blurt thread

And I guess I'm wrong in saying the only senator who had the guts to vote against the Patriot Act was a democrat.

Apparently you were asleep when the Patriot Act was passed, which gave the DHS the power to do this.

Apparently that NoDoz you mainline has burned a hole through your brain...

...but, I digress.

How many Senate and House Democrats voted in favor of the Patriot Act which, according to you, gives "the DHS the power to do this"?

BELOW AVERAGE

Look up D Feinstein and the ACLU

and what she AXED em

and what they SAID

when she voted for it

2001
Senate
- All members but one Democrat vote in favor
House
- 211 Republicans vote yes, 3 vote no
- 145 Democrats vote yes, 62 vote no
- 5 republicans and 4 democrats don't vote

2006 renewal
Senate
- 89 members vote yes, 10 democrats and 1 independent vote no
- 1 democrat didn't vote
House
- 219 Republicans vote yes, 13 vote no
- 66 democrats vote yes, 124 vote no
- 1 independent votes no
- 3 republicans and 11 democrats don't vote

2011 renewal
Senate
- 86 members vote yes, 12 vote no (11 democrats and 1 independent)
- 2 democrats don't vote
House
- 210 Republicans vote yes, 27 vote no
- 65 democrats vote yes, 117 vote no
- 3 republicans and 11 democrats don't vote

IMO the Homeland Security Act was a result of the encouragement given to politicians by the Patriot Act, which started a lot of where we are today.

Has nothing to do with my thread, but thanks for posting anyway :)

To obfuscate and to distract are in the Republican play book. When shown the facts and the truth, confuse and go off-topic is what they do.

BTW, Ann Romney had PAID help! She was not a true stay-at-home parent, please.

Any law which is specifically and truly "anti" any person is repugnant to individual liberty.

LT has claimed some man side in this kind of sexist playacting...

...you seem to have chosen to focus on some woman side.Yes, in this thread, I have

Me?

I don't really care what either of you hide between your legs.Never said you did

What's your opinion on Democrat Congressman Sheila Jackson Lee directly violating "all" Americans' individual liberty? You know...

...no matter if that American is a woman or a man? Please see your thread about the topic

You familiar with Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's "anti"-American Internet bills? Please see your thread about the topic

How 'bout Democrat President Barack Obama insisting that he has the arbitrary right to assassinate American citizens with absolutely no judicial process at all?

Would you say that's more "anti-women" or "anti-men"?

Do you have a thread about this? Couldnt find it.

You want to pretend Democrats aren't as tyrannical as Republicans? Never said they werefree, jovencita tonta...

Other than that, your "war on women" is just as hyperbolicly false-flag as the "war on drugs" and the "war on terrorism"...

...good luck struggling within that quicksand of your own making.

BTW: if you're actually ever truly interested in my opinion regarding a specific law you deem "anti-women"...

...please just ask next time.I'll keep that in mind

:cattail:

Off topic somewhat:

"A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned to walk forward."
— Franklin D. Roosevelt

Given the blurt derptopia by the cons going on here, it's ironically on topic.

If anything

There is a WAR ON MEN!

THE ATLANTIC:Why The U.S. Economy Is Biased Against Men.“Visit American workplaces, especially major corporations, and you’ll find that anti-men practices are not only tolerated but routinely imposed by employers. Women but not men are encouraged to form committees and caucuses to advance their sex’s causes in the workplace, often at men’s expense.”

Women also get a third more in lifetime medical spending than do men.

Wisconsin passes new red-tape laws, effectively banning non-surgical abortions

"a patient will now be required to return to the same doctor 12 to 18 days after the medications are administered for followup care. If she refuses, or prefers to see her personal physician, the patient would face no penalty but the doctor could be charged....The law subjects doctors to Class I felony charges...such crimes carry a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine, 3 1/2 years in prison or both."

So, this means a doctor can be charged with a crime if a patient misses an appointment?

It sounds like Republicans have declared war on doctors.

Yes, or if she simply chooses to seek aftercare from her own personal doctor instead.

Why would Republicans want to restrict a person's access to their own doctor?

It seems so out of character. Someone needs to ask Mitt Romney if his Massachusetts healthcare plan had something like this in it.

This is what passes for small government conservativism?

Disgusting.

The majority of these restrictions of womens' rights have been promoted and financed by radical conservatives. When extremist organizations like FreedomWorks and Club for Growth got connected to Koch Brothers billion$, they put radicals like Gov. Walker in positions of power. Soon after they were sworn in, several of these governors (Kasich, Scott, Snyder, Daniels, LePage, Walker, ad. nauseum) adopted an anti-worker, anti-woman agenda that had not been issues in their elections. These activities appear to have been coordinated through a group called ALEC. Sensible Americans cannot afford to ignore the threat represented here. A group financed by the Koch Brothers (Net wealth $50B+) with an army of radicals should not be written off lightly.

Disgusting.

Small government conservatives want to reduce the size of government until it can only perform the functions sanctioned by SGC's. This once included only the military and the Post Office, but in recent years, the Postal system fell out of favor.

Republicans agree to keep student loan rates from doubling, but only if they can pay for it with cuts to key women's health benefits.

"The $5.9 billion bill, which the House is debating today, would prevent interest rates on student loans from doubling July 1. To pay for it, however, the GOP version would cut the Prevention and Public Health Fund, a program created as part of the president’s health care reform act.

“Women, in particular, will benefit from this Prevention Fund, which would provide for hundreds of thousands of screenings for breast and cervical cancer,” according to the White House."

So how many women will benefit from not having the interest rates on their student loans increase by 100%?

Or, do you intentionally ignore those women who benefit because it doesn't fit your war on republicans?

BTW:

Since you seem all into championing women politically...

...perhaps you can tell us how many of the following cities - the most physically dangerous to women - are governed by republicans:

The Most Dangerous U.S. Cities for Women

Forbes

1. Saginaw, Michigan
2. Anchorage, Alaska
3. Fairbanks, Alaska
4. Springfield, Illinois
5. Redding, California
6. Flint, Michigan
7. Pine Bluff, Arkansas
8. Lawton, Oklahoma
9. Battle Creek, Michigan
10. Memphis, Tennessee

I began looking at the mayorships and city councils of some of the listed, and would you even believe how many women and Democrats are in the leadership of these cities?

we need a law that will require insurance companies to cover all OTC meds. Also, Green Tea and a tea kettle. also, insurance companies must pay for the electricity or natural gas to make that tea

Ive decided to create this thread to contain all of my angry rants about new anti-women laws.

Feel free to add your own.

A Wisconsin law that made it easier for victims of wage discrimination to have their day in court was repealed on Thursday

"You could argue that money is more important to men ... maybe because they expect to be a bread winner someday" - Rep. Senator Glenn Grothman

"Arizona legislators have advanced a bill that would require women who wish to have their contraception covered by their health insurance plans to prove to their employers that they are taking it to treat medical conditions. The bill also makes it easier for Arizona employers to fire a woman for using birth control to prevent pregnancy despite the employer's moral objection"

"a bill approved by a House committee would require physicians inform women seeking an abortion of an unproven assertion — that there is a risk of breast cancer from the procedure."

even though

"the overwhelming amount of research by the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society and other major health organizations say that isn’t so."

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2012/ma...-amendment-ab/

Not only does this bill force doctors to tell patients that there is a link between breast cancer and abortion( even if the doctor doesnt believe there is) but it allows doctors not to inform women about prenatal issues if it means preventing an abortion. Kansas doctors would also be free of potential lawsuits over the issue ,unless the woman dies.

we need a new labor law that states companies must give employees one week off with pay for the common cold. if anyone sneezes at work, that person must be allowed to go home with full pay and with out using comp time.
