Put every MeeMie post that isn't a quoted source in this thread...

That's the plan, certainly. It worked for McCain.

I am pointing it out to Sean because he has mocked me for saying so (the crossover vote) on several occasions, regardless of how many times I've provided him with facts.

Maybe now, he will watch the replay in action and understand.

How did it work for McCain? He is not President.

The crossover vote (Democrats voting in Repulican primaries) is how McCain won the primary. He solicited votes from Democrats, just as the link posted above shows Santorum is now attempting to do. "It worked for McCain"

Maybe if you had looked at the link you would have understood the point.

So? McCain still lost.

Does that mean Santorum can get the nom with the "winning" McCain strategy? Maybe. I really, really hope that does happen.

And yes, I read the link.

MeeMie still hasn't explained how McCain lost so many open primaries. Or even given any proof that Dems registered as Rep in closed ones. For MeeMie, I really, really, want it to be true=proof.

The PUMAs were there, no doubt about it, but was still not a winning strategy in the end.

That was 2008.

2012 is a whole new and different ballgame.

That is EXACTLY the point. Democrats forced the weakest GOP candidate to win the Republican primary ... THUS increasing the odds for their candidate to win the general election. Santorum is hoping history repeats itself in the provided link.

Seriously, are you all this dense?

So? That did not make McCain President, did it?

I hope Santorum wins the primary. I will even give money to his campaign to help make that happen.

Thank you for illustrating my point.

Yes, and I'll bump it again whenever an example of "crossover voting" is reported currently to illustrate how and why it is used, contrary to Seanh's insistence that it isn't possible.

The little personal digs are meaningless to me, and again demonstrate the loonie mantra:

The classic loonie debate:

• loonie gang bang
• fault the source
• point finger elsewhere
• namecalling
• insult integrity and intelligence
• answer a question with another question
• refuses to read info stating already knows what's in it
• Deflect, Deny, Divert
• BLAME BUSH!

It's a pattern easily recognizable, used in varying degrees, simultaneously and/or one jab at a time

Anyone who studies the history of ideas should notice how much more often people on the political left, more so than others, denigrate and demonize those who disagree with them -- instead of answering their arguments.

Where did I say it isn't possible?

Wait...first you say McCain solicited votes from Democrats, which would indicate a considered strategy. But then you say Democrats forced the weakest candidate to win, which reflects rather poorly on McCain.

There is no way that Santorum can appeal to Democrats, or even moderate Republicans, so the only thing he can hope for is a similar Democrat tactic McCain (allegedly) experienced. Hardly what I would consider a strategy.

I can't believe I have to explain this to you, of all people. I thought you were brighter than that. But, you are canadian, so....

McCain successfully used the strategy to appeal to the Democrats' crossover vote. He outwardly courted the same ... just as the article linked shows Santorum doing now. Additionally, ObamaMedia gave most favorable attention to McCain, who was the candidate that Democrats wanted to run against since he was the weakest and unfavorable GOP candidate. It worked well. Republican turnout in the general election was half of what it should have been.

It's doubtful that it will work for Santorum now, but that doesn't stop him from attempting it.

The victimhood does not help your case any.

Yep, more than likely, it will not work. That I will agree with.

Dummy, he said he HOPES that would happen. You really suck at comprehension, dude.

Romney's inevitable status looks murky at the moment with Santorum's come from behind victories. These are interesting times.
