I can't speak for him, but I do believe the point was that over 50% of our national debt can be attributed to wars and Bush tax cuts. Not quite sure where you are getting the "more welfare, entitlements..."ect. If you disagree with this graph, provide some evidence to the contrary. Instead of focusing on the obvious and fixable causes of over 50% of our debt, "she" would rather focus on issues far more complex that will take alot of negotiation to fix. See, everyone wants their entitlements...just cut someone elses and we will be ok

If the graph is correct, and I suspect it is fairly accurate (it may be 10% off one way or another), then eliminating the 2 primary causes of the debt will by its nature, reduce the debt. This is how it works.

We've covered this before...no I do not work for the Gov't, however I do have several Gov't contracts that are nice. If, however, someone can do what I do for less, they can make their bid and take those contracts.

Actually, spending has been passed year after year as part of a continuing resolution. Actual amounts of money going to any single program has remained stable (or cut) except for the military. What has increased is the interest being paid to fund things that we didn't have the money to pay for, such as wars and tax breaks to the rich.

The reductions in marginal tax rates on income and cap gains stimulated investment spending and helped us recover from the economic shock caused by 9/11. Our annual deficits were coming down and our economy perking along (we got to 4.6% unemployment) before Pelosi and Reid got leadership positions in congress and started pushing spending up significantly. The marginal rate tax cuts stimulated business, got more people employed and INCREASED net tax revenues also. Marginal tax reductions HELPED the economy.

I say reduce spending, stabilize regulation and stop scapegoating business and our economy will improve more quickly than it is under this administration.

If we increase taxes, we'll retard growth and will have to continue to pay lots and lots of people to not work.

The democrats have it backwards and they're causing these economic doldrums to continue.
