I had my child out of wedlock, I chose not to marry her father

I love it most when he regales us with stories of what his daughter calls his son in law. Klassy.

I bet you he won't tell us what his daughter calls his son-in-law when his son-in-law's banging the shit out of his daughter every Wednesday and Saturday night.

I've had him on ignore for so long, I don't know what you're talking about. I guess I never clicked on the show post at the right time.

So I expect a post explaining this. Stat.

Think of a horrid, awful, disparaging racial term that only an uneducated person would use. That's it.

I doubt that his daughter even has a husband. Or if he even has children. Admittedly, that's more likely wishful thinking on my part.

I have 10 grandchildren and all my kids are married. They were raised correctly.

I got pregnant in college and could have taken the easy way out and aborted. I chose to raise my child, it was my mistake and for me to abort would be a second mistake. I finished college, got a job and she has never wanted for anything. She's now 15, A student, artist, snowboard whiz and a great kid. A few years ago I felt my clock running out so I chose to have another child. She's 2 now, a beautiful pistol of a girl. I've never regretted my choice to have either.

Have my girls suffered for my choices? Not in my eyes. They both have a father that loves them. They've grown up in a warm, loving environment, we have made sure of that. The only people who have ever criticized me for being a single mom are a few on here. In my real life people know that my children are happy and healthy.

Why is it that people seem to think single parents need to somehow justify their status?
So,you're a single parent. So what?
If your kids are healthy, happy and well-adjusted, what business is it of anyone's how their home life is structured?

Hate to go into LT mode but why is it if some guy gets a woman pregnant and then splits the scene he's some kind of monster but when a woman does it she's a hero? Some how I don't believe if some guy came in here bragging about having unprotected sex and leaving the woman pregnant, unmarried, and a single parent he would get all these "You go girl" comments.

Just sayin'.

Your kids in college.

You're old.

No shit. What a hag. Mine is just now graduating High School. That means I've still got a good 4 months left in me. Party time!

On a somewhat related note, I did not realize how expensive Seniors are. Pictures, a whole graduation set not just a cap and gown, a car, cash all the fucking time, a senior trip, dress for prom, etc.

Kids these days. Why back in my day...

Because they are told over and over again in many ways that everyone should get married and have babies. Never mind that some of the people who regurgitate that nonsense aren't married either. Apparently that's okay because you have to set yourself up to do it in that order or never do it at all.

I see a lot of good comments posted in this thread. Each based upon their own experiences.

I have been fortunate enough to have been blessed with good hearted, well meaning parents who did the very best they could for their children. I know now they far exceeded the decency and moral standards many parents do today.

Most good parents never want their children to experience any ills they themselves experienced growing up. They make sacrifices their children cannot comprehend until the children can learn to respect those sacrifices. In this way, children are spoiled.

I have no known children, however, I often wish I had some to pass on the wonderful lessons I have learned from my parents.

When a woman does what? Has unprotected sex? It takes two to tango, you know.
"You go girl" is for the woman who doesn't split the scene...she takes on the responsibility to raise her child. The jerk who got her pregnant and then splits deserves to be ridiculed. He had the fun, but can't be bothered to take care of his own child. If a woman in this circumstance chooses to have the baby and give it up for adoption, shes' still the hero. She has done what is right for the child, if she can not raise the child herself, in spite of the inconvenience and heartache she suffers. Yet you think he deserves an "atta boy!"?? For what? Proving he has seman?

CAPITALSJOHNSON will now tell us an anecdote about how he raised fifteen kids on his own and they all turned out to be Nobel prize winning, Olympic gold medal winning paragons of society.

No, his three daughters turned out to be worthless white trash like him.

It was Amicus' spawn that turned out to be Nobel prize winning, US patent owning Olympic medalists.

I'm so glad that you and your girls are so happy :rose: I feel the same way here, my son and I are very happy and comfortable.

Where is it written that a single parent home can't be a happy one? I've known many people who grew up in the traditional two-parent home who were very unhappy.

Why is it that people seem to think single parents need to somehow justify their status?

That's so true, it's no one's business unless the children are in danger.

If you have one parent, or two of the same or different genders, it's all about how well you love your children and how well you raise them.

i think it's good for kids to have two loving parents who cooperate in raising them.

i don't think it's the end of the world if those two parents don't live in the one house.

Exactly.

Well, obviously your children are better off without you in their lives, but you should still be held accountable financially. Oh, and high fives on that unique ability to produce seman, that's quite an accomplishment. Really. Most impressive. You the man. A real king among mortals. :p

When a woman gets pregnant and.. takes the kid and splits? Or leaves the kid with him?

I dont know anyone who gets a "You go girl" for abandoning their child.
