If he really got banned and it was as quick as people say then the only thing I can think of would be something to do with someone underage. It's the only thing they don't fuck around with. More than a few people have given out very personal info and been slapped on the wrist.
It's entirely possible that he's not really banned or that he was warned many times and we don't know about it.
