Point is there's a reason for the option to report a thread - hell I've reported threads before - the last one I remember reporting was in the personal section for spam advertisement, before that was some nutcase who was bashing on the military...very rarely do I ever report threads or posts...even when the posts are about me

Well, way to go, that's 500-plus pages of ultimately harmless content that was enjoyed by quite literally hundreds of people.

As a regular contributor to Rox and Pervy's wonderful BBW Pics thread, I'm mildly outraged that ALL our contributions have been annahilated in this way. My outrage is not so much directed at the individual who initiated the removal, but at the moderators/administrators of this forum for actually entertaining such lunacy. Why on earth did anyone think it necessary to DELETE this thread, which many of us have spent time and effort creating and contributing to? Why not simply relocate it?

Lit is going down the tubes, quite honestly. You only have to look at the hate-filled tirades that certain members post in certain forums (I'm thinking of the GLBT in particular; it's a safe bet that anyone who's ever spent any time in that area will know the exact name I'm thinking of!) and yet somehow get away with it to realise that the site is no longer run by anybody with an ounce of common sense, fairness of impartiality.

Anyway, it's too late now; what's done is done, irrespective of how utterly bloody mindless it was.

Let's get the pic threads back to where they were - anyone who doesn't like it, feel free to keep your tedious opinions to yourselves and just avoid the threads you don't like. After a bit of practice I'm sure you'll all find it really, really easy; hell, this is supposed to be a place people can go for a bit of light relief, not to moan and whinge about what the other users are doing!

I hate to add to the drama, but I feel like pointing some things out. And before I begin, I will say that I have friends on both sides of this issue.

I think it sucks that Brat's thread got moved. But I also think moving a thread with amateur pictures to AmPics is a fair thing.

That said, the other threads WERE in violation of the rules. As someone that has and almost sorta kinda not really maintains it, I know that as per the rules of this board, posting pictures that include genitalia is a violation of the rules set forth by the owner of the board. The fact that this rule is infrequently enforced does not change this fact.

I know people liked their threads, but it really is no different than speeding. Every day, I get in my car, and I drive 80 miles per hour. The speed limit is 70. I am in violation of the rules. I do this daily and regularly. Everyone else around me also drives 80 mph. We are all in violation of the rules. In a two month span, I got ticketed for this speeding. Why were the other cars not fined? No idea. I got busted; they did not. But then again, I've driven by a LOT of cops that had people pulled over when I was in fact breaking the law myself.

The truth is, no one has a leg to stand on because the threads that got removed had images that were in violation of the rules. Is this fair? According to the rules that we agreed to when we became members of the board, yes. We clicked the 'I agree' box.

Honestly, fighting amongst ourselves is doing no good. It might be more wise to petition the owners to relax this rule. But as it stands, if you violate the rules, it makes sense that you will eventually pay the price. It's no different than speeding. If you keep doing it, you WILL eventually get a ticket. I'm living proof. 4 tickets in my lifetime. That said, I've had 40,000 infractions of the law. I'm just lucky they don't enforce it better than they do.

I hope this does not anger anyone. I am not trying to point fingers anywhere, nor am I trying to choose sides.

For those that say 'why does Brat get her work moved to Am Pics and everyone else gets their thread removed' May I suggest you consider the fact that her pics WERE in fact amateur. She took the pictures and owns the copyright. As a published author, I'd get pretty pissy if people stole my work. This is true for pictures too. Posting pictures without proper copyright is the difference in this case. Theoretically, the people that own the copyrights on those images could complain to the owners of the site for the illegal posting of their work. Removing them prevents any potential issues for Literotica.

Again, I'm not trying to make anyone angry. I'm just pointing out facts and the likely logical reasons behind what happened.

The threads that got destroyed may well have been great and a ton of work; I'm sure I've perved on some myself. They were however; againt the ToS. Dem's the breaks. It's a risk (collective) you took when you posted pics in violation. I don't really care all that much *where* Brat's thread is located...it's on my subscriptions. That said.....no one had any F'ing business complaining about it.

Before anyone says that they should just remove the offending pics think how many pages each thread was, it would take someone a huge amount of time to do and as each moderator here does the job unpaid and in their spare time its much to big a thing to ask of them.

One other thing has sprung to mind, everyone has noticed how sluggish Lit has been lately, is it not possible that the threads which are chock full of images are partly to blame for this, soaking up all the servers available resources?
And deleting them helps the site run smoother again, is that a bad thing?

I cant answer that one, you'd need to discuss it with either Laurel or Manu.

Maybe there are laws/regulations in place that require them to have the T&C's as they are, or maybe its their own choice, its their site, their rules, as long as they stay within the law too.
