Actually, my place is warm tonight. We had friends around earlier and they always complain that our house is cold, so hubby makes sure to turn the heat up when they come over. I think it's a fairly toasty 18 deg at the moment.

Not to mention how warm we could get it if shenanigans were had

Holy smoke! I knew it was raining all day in Melbourne today as two friends on Twitter were quick to complain about, but it sounds like Tassie has been copping a battering!

Here's to a quick recovery from your cold and a better night's sleep tonight.

the weather came in late sat night and hasn't let up yet.

As for the cold - I gave in today and bought some serious medications.
Right now I'm flying with little blue butterflies and feeling no pain.
There's something to be said for the little pink pills

We had friends who went to NZ recently (south island) and they packed expecting it to be freezing and the weather was better than it was back here in Canberra.

Aha ... Canberra. Spent several weeks there in Spring. Was pleasant climate-wise. But our rugby team played there in snow a few years back.

Oh my god! You just gave me the strangest mental image then. You know how in the movie "The Matrix", the machines used people to essentially be batteries for them?

Well, I just had a vision of this huge warehouse, filled with beds, each bed occupied by a fucking couple and somehow the science had been developed to harness the energy that came from orgasms. If I was any kind of writer, I could develop a story out of that, but alas, I'm not overly talented in that direction.

I thought it was going to snow here today at one point. Although it wasn't forecast, just rain was forecast, it had that icy feeling in the air...

So, where you are doesn't see snow then?

Occasionally ... reasonably well south (Otago) but being coastal reduces the snow storms and we only get dusting on the hills or a REALLY good dose from the icy Antarctic flow. Brrrrr ...
