Last time I went camping I was ridiculed as I had to sit and put on my body lotions, moisturise and oil my hair. I also sooked until they rigged up a half drum and put it over a fire. I had a lovely hot bath under the stars and a full moon. So so not a camper.

Alwasy hesitant about using the kettles after stories from Army lads one night, years ago. Ewwwww.....can't even say what they used to do. Ex sister-outlaw used to do Housemaiding in some pretty fine hotels, the stories she told make me so winky about using things in Hotels.

The last one I stayed in was 4.5 stars, lovely. Except that it had no airconditioning. Large opening windows, yes. But no airconditioning. They brought a standing fan in for you on warmer days.

As for the warm air....you not into a little ice then Elfie? Hmm pity. Nothing like a little triller chiller.

Have been lying in bed trying to sleep for 2 hours now.
Finally given up.

i went the chemical route, and now i have a hangover from the meds.
This happens about once or twice a month for me, and i'm over it

Oh no I did the whole sleep clinic deal with a night wired up only to be told "Here take these" & went the whole night without sleep plus like you gave me a hangover & left me dopey or dopeyer then crashed out just before noon which then saw me suffering low blood sugar which is an every more dangerous situation.

yeah, i did the sleep centre too.
I didn't sleep at all while there - exactly how did they expect me to sleep with all those wires?
went back a few weeks later and the same thing happened.
They ended up telling me i had 'the princess and the pea' issues.
Apparently, everything in my bed and environment has to be exactly right for me to sleep

I am still planning on coming down to Sin City but until I get my leg issues worked out, it is hard to plan. Fingers crossed you both come up here. The Vintage Speedway would be fantastic. Nice to see they are doing it at the Ekka too. Spent many a date there in teenaged years.

I'll resist saying we will untill the time is nearer to us getting up there & we look forward to meeting you too.

They have been holding the Vintage Speedway shows at the Ekka for several years now & it seems the want for more money sees plans for offices & units to be built within the Ekka which could be the end of this annual event.

yeah, i did the sleep centre too.

I hadn't slept for 3 days leading up to the sleep clinic & still only got 2 hours of very broken sleep, my mind just dosen't switch off.

Why not sell hunting licences to all interested as we do have lots of introduced speices that seem to thrive here.

Like with everything the government reacts slowly which has seen the camel population exploding but still no solution, I say send all the soldiers training for Iraq & Afghanistan could go outback searching & hunting for camels as part of their training to aclimatise to the desert conditions.

Or send all the illegals out there to deal with the camels.

Not in Sydney we only have the camel jockeys taking over.

I used to love packing up my bike & spinning a bottle then heading off in that direction for a weekend get away, no planning just go north, south or west, no east as I lived at a beach side suburb then.

Well I shall just cross my fingers that life is kind and I get to have a coffee with the both of you.

It's pathetic that the Ekka ground is being sold off. It should remain public and community space.

The leg is not so good still. Damn feeling like I'm 80 instead of $%....ah, like I'd tell it here. I have an appointment with a specialist next Monday, so will see what he has to say. I do think it will be an operation to clean it all out, worse case (though at least for the first time in over 28 years or so, I should be able to walk, run and do the splits again..) I am thinking a knee replacement op. But, as I said, we shall see what he says first.

Good thing is that I do maintain a little flexibility Can still touch the headboard behind me with my toes.... Oh, so shouldn't say that, but couldn't resist. Not ladylike in the least to say such crass things.

It's a gorgeous Autumn day here, Sun, not too cold. This is the when I almost can live in Brisbane. Sighs....but summer will be sweating over us again before long.

Hope the cold is getting better that you and Bandit have been suffering from. Just got over a chest infection from sinus. Good heavens, if it's not one it's the other.
