Teen Titans: Fast Forward (OOC)

Born and raised, although my heart pulls me to Germany. Yup there is a bit of Kraut in my family's blood, but it seems like I'm the only one who wants to go there LOL.

Yeah I read statistics the other day, over the past 5 years there have been increases from 80% to 160% in crime rates. I mean how the hell can you see this sort of stuff and then tell the people that the fight against crime is alive and giving good results? I swear if it wasn't for the fact that I carry a machete around tucked into my belt I would have been a robbery statistic by now. Fun thing is that as a security firm you can't do much either, the police have only been given the right to use deadly force over the past six months and already there have been reports of 7 innocent bystanders getting shot by the police.

Also, I have German in me too, hehe. My great great great grandfather was from Wuttermburg. He came to America in 1851. His name was John Zagst, and he was one of three brothers. One of the brothers, Andrew, had already come to America in like 1847, and the third stayed in Germany. So, there are three branches right now. The two lines of Zagst here in America, and one still over in Germany. I have some of my distant German cousins on Facebook. Oh, and I am not the only Jeff Zagst. There is another one from Andrew's side that is an anesthesiologist.

It's funny, his name is Jeffrey Stephen Zagst, I believe, and his middle name is his father's first name. Well, my name is Jeffrey William Zagst, and William is my dad's first name, haha. It's cool to think that every single Zagst in America can be traced back to those brothers. I have a LOT of relatives, lol.

I was reading up on Green Lantern, and thinking about forming my own idea for the various colors.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the seven (or is it eight?) ring colors already established as of Darkest Night?

As for the story I'd be willing to check out an issue. I'm not sure Record of Chrono Avatar would really keep me locked in place for very long. For the love of everything unholy in the eleven frozen hells you cannot have a "disease/condition" transfered by bites, produce fangs called Drakuul. I'm sorry, you can't. I suck at naming things as well, horribly. So much so that it's probably why I enjoy working in Fanfic because enough of the naming and basics shit it taken care of by the time I got there. LAzy yeah and it annoys me but god.

Granted I'm sure when you flesh it out you planned to have him learn the names of the countries/continents first and then come to the incredible leap of logic that this is alternate Earth, not him come to that incredible leap of logic and then find out he's in America and the enemy aren't even thinly veiled Russian Christians.

I like the dark seed corruption particularly if it can be well done. So far the closest to someone not fucking it up that I've seen is probably Naruto and even fucks it up more often than not.

I like the name Drakuul. It sounds kind of like Draco and Dracula. As for the alternate version of Earth, he figures that out because they speak the same language as him and certain things are similar, like computers and stuff. Though, the geograghy is a little different. Basically, all the Americas are more connected and are all part of the Emarikan continent. Then you got Eurasia, Africa, and Australia that are all connected and actually stretch south to Antartica, technically making it all one continent, Rapusia.

If I bring in a third world later on, the geograghy of that one will be more like our Earth, but most of the world will be controlled by Japanese demons and Samurai warriors. And I'm glad you like the dark seed thing. Basically, it will slowly corrupt his point of view, not outright turn him evil. Like, in his mind, he's still good, but his definition of good and evil will gradually shift. I'm sure he'll get to the point where he knows what he is doing is wrong, but at that point, he won't really care. He won't be all like, "I love being evil!" but he'll be more like, "I have turned down a dark path... There is no going back now..."

Oh, and yeah, there are seven colors. I meant for my version of it. Some of the details of the colors in the comics are just gay. Like, willpower is not an emotion. Green Lanterns are based on willpower in the comics. I like them to be based on courage instead. Yes, will is needed to form the energy, but that goes for all Lanterns, all colors.

And yes, my story does kind of sound like a mix between Record of Lodoss War, Chrono Trigger/Cross, and Avatar, haha.

Which is pretty much the exact reason why you can't have it give dragon powers not appropriate vampire powers.

Unless their maps don't have words on them he'd find out they were similar geographically AFTER he had some idea of where he was. To me plays out like this.

I garantee you that if you were to take the average person wipe out most of the land marks they wouldn't know America from New Zealand much less recognize alternate America prior to seeing a map. Now upon seeing a map he'd go holy shit this is America! Wait why's it spelled wrong? Him guessing alternate Earth based on English almost holds together and I suppose a child that logic might hold. Considering the differences in your world it seems. . .unlikely that English would dominate. I suspect in a world with dragons n shit the Romans would have been a teensy bit more sucessful, and certainly no reason to believe that the English would still be the ones to dominate. This is that part in sci-fi fiction that you're not supposed to think about. Everybody everywhere's speaks English except a few misguided tribes on earth. That includes demons and other creatures that have been imprisoned since before the English Language was even whispered from lips.

The only explanation I can think of that makes any real sense would be if the tech somehow comes from various people throughout history popping though. Whatever Unk built is something that occurs naturally. I dunno lightning strikes while standing on silicon ore or something. The key here is to make it so complicated that when the uber fans call you on why exactly it wouldn't work that way you get to call them nerds.

I'd give it's fair shake down, gods above know I missed out on lots of good stuff (like most of Avatar so there's still quite a bit I haven't seen) because I said ha ha that's silly! There's also stuff that I thought was super cool and kinda skipped cus I knew I wouldn't get enough to satisfy. (alas poor The Cape, I knew good and damn well I wasn't getting a full season. Wonderwoman. . . you're probably fucked as well and you might not even make it to air.) This is kinda right in the middle where I think you went a bit over kill.

Specifically on the races unless you have a lot of need for separate races I think it makes more sense to have less. Not just from a we shoulda wiped these out standpoint. (I honestly don't know why your AVERAGE fantasy setting has goblins or orcs left.) There is also the fact that Big Show, Danny Devito and Vern Troyer are all the same species. I've been conciously trying to dial back the number of species in my fantasy realms it's just hard to get rid of some of the more established ones.

Well the first Human came from Germany in the 1800's, I keep forgetting what I read when it comes to my family history. He was from Soligen and served as a soldier for the governor, then he served as a personal assistant type of thingy for the governor and then he got married. Still have to figure out where that tree went further, but I did follow that bloodline to me, so I can say I have some German in me LMAO

Grant figures Amaroth must be an alternate version of Earth because, for one, like I said, the language. But also the things he sees in the village. It basically looks like a standard American town except for magic and some better technology. Clothing is very similar, he sees village sheriffs walking around in uniforms somewhat similar to Earth ones, teenagers wearing t-shirts and jeans, TV, internet, and video games, etc. Stuff like that.

And yes, the equivilent of English is dominant in this world, even more so than in ours. And certain parts of Amaroth's history parallel's that of Earth. Like, elves first came to Emarika a few centuries ago, during which time the continent was mostly inhabited by tribes of goblins, trolls, and orcs. There were wars at first, but unlike the English and Native Americans in our world, the elves and savages eventually formed an alliance, leading to sciences becoming more advanced earlier that on Earth, because there were less wars. Plus in our world, Christianity smothered science until very recently, otherwise we'd have more advanced technology by now. I remember in an ep of Family Guy, Brian and Stewie go to an alternate Earth where science is a thousand years more advanced, because Christianity never became so widespread, and thus the Dark Ages never surpressed technology.

As for what Unk stumbled upon, yes, it has been there for ages. It is basically the two worlds, which exist on different vibrational frequencies, temporarily phasing through each other. When the teleportation pods were activated during this brief passover, it basically opened a doorway between the two worlds. But by the time Unk tried to go in himself, the passover had ended. It is a very brief event, but Unk eventually discovers that the passover occurs approximately once every forty days. He discovers this by teleporting items back and forth through the pods every single day, hoping the machine will malfunction again and recreate the phenomenon. Forty days later it does, and he sends a probe through first to check things out. He brings the probe right back and quickly views the data, then prepare to enter himself, but again, the connection is lost. He keeps checking every day and about forty days later, he gets another connection. He quickly slides one pod closer to the other, gets in, and finally sends himself over, but he reaches out and touches the other pod, teleporting it with him. He knows in forty days he can use that pod to teleport himself and Grant back to Earth.

Then, when the dragons are revealed later on, the characters discover these ancient beings can open portals between the worlds at will, or at least they used to be able to. This ability was stripped by good dragons ages ago, but they get it back in the series. It is also revealed the dragons visited Earth in the ancient past, being the source of many legends and myths of our world.

And as for the dragon powers, Grant becomes a sort of dragon vampire. Though, he is not undead and he doesn't burn in the sunlight. A normal vampire is basically a dead body that the soul is sealed to through the flowing of demonic blood. The blood keeps it from completely decaying but there is still an obvious paleness to the skin. Though, I find the cold skin part to be unrealistic, because vampires constantly have warm blood flowing through their veins.

In Grant's case, the venom from the Drakuul doesn't outright kill him because he is from a world where no magic exists. The people of Amaroth all have at least trace amounts of magic in their blood, and the Drakuul venom kills this, which kills them, because they need magic to survive. Since Grant has no magic in his blood at first, there is nothing for the venom to kill, and so instead it just circulates and spreads, eventually giving him some of the abilities of the Drakuul.

The Drakuul themselves were formed ages ago when a few desperate dragons were outnumbered and they formed a pact with a demon. They took demon blood and dragon blood and basically cloned an army of soldiers for them to use, but the resulting creations became abominations. Most of them were put down, but some managed to escape and breed. There is an ongoing effort to exterminate them, but new nests keep popping up.

Did you want me to edit in anything to my post? More detail...or correcting something that is incorrect?

Also, I just reread my post, and come to think of it, Unk could use the pod on Amaroth to teleport to the pod on Earth even after the passover, because he no longer needs the passover to make the connection -- the two pods already have that. But like I said in the summary, the pod gets smashed, haha.

And Dormant, I haven't read the RP posts yet. I'll get back to you in a sec :).

Awesome post, Dormy. Though I had to zoom in because the font was so small, lol. My only problem is the reference to "us" being killed. Is she refering to all superheroes? Because I was saying before that Terry McGinnis became a key leader of the resistance. I was thinking he had other heroes recruited as well. Maybe you could change that last part to something like, "Since Lex's rise to power, most of the metahumans either joined him or have been killed. Only a handful of us are left to fight..."

Other than that, awesome post :). BTW, do you like my nickname for you? Hehe.

I don't mind it at all, lol.

And thanks, I wasn't sure on that part to be honest, lol. Shall edit accordingly.

Wait what religion is this. Humans started in Germany and only started leaving after 1800?! Holy shit everything I learned in history class AND religion AND history were all lies! LIES I TELLS YA!!

Tell me you didn't name your planet Azeroth?! Please. It's hurting my tiny nearly inexistant soul. Look the next time you need a name do what I do. Grab the nearest scrabble box. Spill out the peices. Try to pronounce it. Keep trying until results follow.

Cept the Egyptians, Ottomans, Romans, Chinese, French, Spanish also conquered people. It's like Sliders where someone who had no reason to understand did because they new the prereq. They were still on earth just some little change occured. Its not like someone in Europe conquering someone in the "new World" is unique. And maybe I'm living in an alternate reality but aren't most Indian Tribes mostly to entirely integrated? Hell modern America is probably unique in that we allow the tribes partial autonomy. I don't hear anything about reserves in Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Peru. . .sorry got bored. I'm no fan of religion but I'd still love to debate that Christianity smothered Science. By and large it didn't give two shits about science it had/has some very particular gripes but not much that effects day to day life.

Still think Drakull is terribad name but carry on. Consider me the local dissident. The guy who isn't simply going to pat you on the back tell you you're awesome. Like Vampires do not have constantly warm blood flowing through them, unless you make them MORE magical than they are presented. For starters get a bowl of soup, make it as hot as you like. Throw it in a thermos if you really wanna be a douche. Now come back in six hours. I feel comfy saying no vamp feeds every six hours. Even if they did they still have, magically powered, but human digestive tracks. The warm stuff isn't evenly distributed it goes to the stomach (at the very least) and then is distributed. (Now go back to your soup poor in a pan and see how much faster it cools off) Otherwise your hybrid idea. . .okay it's kinda neat. In that same way that Cell is neat as a Saiyan/Namek hybrid. Without Saiyans and Nameks to compare and contrast he's maybe a bit OP but still not terribad.

Wait. The Drakull. . .were formed by Buffy forcing the last Demons of the planet and one of them mixed their blood with. . .I need to stop asking questions.

Maybe I was absent in class. I thought you made a point that we didn't know it was Lex at this point, that was something we knew but not our charachters and they'd have to find out. I know there are significant obstacles between us and there and Ben. . .well lets face it Ben is an idiot. It's just lucky that he has on average 15 aliens at his disposal each tailor suited so as long as he doesn't choose wrong he can beat anything. It's like playing Megaman but with all the powers unlocked from the start. He really might not have thought beyond Titans smash something.

Which raises an interesting diliemna in and off itself. With Argent here and knowing, sorta, what went wrong do we:

A) immediatly begin working to repair the time machine. I didn't list all of Ben's Aliens but he DOES NOT have Grey Matter or Brain Storm (so no super smarts) and just unfuck the problem. Which is clearly that the Titans weren't at some critical point.

B) Hunt down Dr. Light who at least possibly was the important figure who fucked up something.

C) We've got firepower, as much as we're likely to get. If Lex is so prepared that he's expecting a a boy flung 60 years into the future and a team flung 70 years into the future. . .there would have been a goddamn bomb here not some lizard folk. So clearly he doesn't know about us. Lets commense with the wild and passionate rape.

Whoa, Sean, LMAO. Where to begin, lol...

No, I didn't name my world after Azeroth. At first it was Areth, whch is basically Earth spelled a little differently. But then I eventually decided on Amaroth.

As for English being dominant, I am basically using that as one of the elves' native languages. English and Latin are their two native tongues. Latin is used at ceremonies and among families and close friends, but English is used as the common tongue. English is known as Common Elvish, while Latin is known as Formal Elvish. And it's always possible the ancient dragons picked up some of the early tongues from Earth and they became common on Amaroth.

And as for the Native American thing, I meant the British conquered most of them and THEN gave them reserves and stuff because they felt bad. In this world, the natives of Emarikan were not conquered, but bargained with.

And I think a vampire would be warm because of the blood circulation. Their blood would still have to be constantly moving, or else they would become stiff and dehydrated. If their blood didn't circulate, then when a vamp cuts his arm, nothing would come out, because all the blood would be sitting in his legs. So, if the blood circulates, that means the heart is still beating. And since you have to have working lungs to speak properly, their organs are obviously still working. And blood still has to go to the eyes and brain, unless you are seeing through your soul's eyes.

What does Buffy have to do with it?

And as I said in a previous post, we can just assume Lex started going by the name Lex Jr. Lex's full name is Alexander, and his son originally went by Alex instead of Lex to separate himself some from his father. When Lex took over his body, he continued to use the name Alex, but once he was in an undisputed position of power, he started going by Lex Luthor Jr. instead of Alex Luthor Jr.

I would assume Dr. Light removed his time machine from the lab after realizing the Titans would eventually fall out of the timestream. Maybe he tried to repair it to go back in time, but after realizing what Lex has done, he found himself loving this future and instead disabled the time machine and went to work for him. He probably warned Lex about the Titans, and maybe that's why Lex tried to brainwash Argent when they found her. I dunno. But since Light would have no idea exactly when the other Titans would show up, neither would Luthor. Maybe they figure when the Titans do pop up, they'll probably come after Lex, and so he is just watching and waiting. Maybe he doesn't feel threatened by the Titans, but he really wants Conner, since he has lost all his Kryptonian blood samples. Everyone, meet Conner's new clone, Superboy-Prime! LOL. Just an idea. He could also use Conner's DNA to create Doomsday.

Maybe Lex and Light programmed Argent to attack the Titans when she hears a certain code word. Hell, since Lil Bo is a clone, maybe Lex did it to him too, haha. Maybe they are his secret moles within the resitance, waiting for when the Titans show up. Then, he wants to sick them on the heroes, kidnap Conner, create an army of super clones, and then march them into the Dead Zone and finally squash the rebels and enslave the mutants and monsters as labor workers. I could so see them desperately trying to fix the time machine or trigger the temporal band as Lex's army descends on the resistance.

I know you didn't name it Azeroth. I apparently came off less entertaining than my Legend of Chrono. Wait. That's how you came up with that name. Okay since you've got your mispelled America and mispelled Russia. Okay it's pretty cool now.

A liquid flowing doesn't make it retain it's heat. In fact I'm pretty sure it cools it faster but it liquids and friction don't work that way. They can be warm because you want them to be warm that's perfectly rational. Just like they can have lung and need oxygen if you want. It's kind of in vogue to customize your vamps anyway. But vampires talk the same way Superman flies. By denying reality until it leaves them the fuck alone.

What Buffy has to do with it your vampire origin story is nearly identical to what we're told happened in the Buffyverse early on. Now there are entire forums of people who will murder you for that since by the end we have someone who was actually there and said vampires (and humans) were always there. . .which leads you to a whole lot of trying not to think about how much more bad ass humans should be if we were around for millions and millions of years. Anyway.

Actually that whole string of maybe mostly works out for me. I don't know Dr. Light well enough to know if it's plausible so I'll buy it. I tell you right now if Lex transports himself to a future where he doesn't rule the world he's going to the nearest library finding out when/what happened and going back and sending an annonomous letter to the Justice League.

Actually, Superman flying falls perfectly into the spectrum of reality. His cells absorb solar energy, which is then expelled as invisble energy. That invisible energy pours out of his skin and pushes him up or down or forward or wherever. Same way a plane flies, really. Propulsion.

And yeah, Lex would totally go back in time and change shit if he saw a future that didn't benefit him. Hell, look at DC Universe Online, haha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Nf-m6WGl4

Man that makes me want that game. Though that was equal parts Lex was fucked and Lex was cleaning up after himself and. . .since I won't be playing the game I won't know what the purpose was of the double cross.

One day you're gonna have to sit down with me and explain the difference between makes sense and doesn't make sense cus while that may very well be how Supes flies. It almost falls under that enormous list of unstated super powers that damn near every hero has that are necessary to making the first power work. The reality is we aren't supposed to think about how Johnny Storm gets enough oxygen to remain conscious while he's on fire and obviously using up all the oxygen close enough to be inhaled or how Ms. Fantastic can see while she's invisible, you know the light that should be bouncing off her eyes to allow her to see is passing right through her. There is some secondary mechanic that goes unexplained because frankly we're supposed to be having fun and not wondering how Batman gets a hundred yards of cable into a gun barely bigger than the hook it fires. Are little nanites literally building the rope as fast as it fires?

Back to Lex. God that looks great.

Johnny Storm could be absorbing oxygen through his skin along with the flames. Obviously, his molecules realign to endure the fire, so maybe they are also restructured. As for Invisible Woman, I see your point, but there are ways around it. Her retinas only need a small amount of light to see, and she is only invisble to the naked eye. Reed could see her through that computerized magnifying glass thing. Which means she is still absorbing and reflecting light, just not at a level we can see with the naked eye. That might be enough light for her to see, or she may see things kind of hazy while invisible, not sure.

As for Batman's rope, it could be tightly wound inside the gun. Depends on the incarnation and design. There are a lot of different Batmans, lol. In Nolan's movies, he seems to have like a thin wire for the rope, so you could get a LOT of that rolled up inside the grappling gun.

HAHA, talk about a long grappling hook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7o0kUY6qdg

Also, I have been considering doing a second DC game based on DC Universe Online. If I do, I'll play my Green Lantern character there instead, as well as Superman and a few custom characters.
