For Discussion: BBW's and Fat Attraction

lance is in his poopyhead mood.
in a month or two he'll vanish.
then, when he returns, he may be charming lance again.

i wonder why it is that obese men aren't fetishised to the same degree...

From what I have heard that in the bear section of the gay community they are enjoyed. I quite like fat men. I wonder whether there are a group of personality traits attributed to fat women that encourage the fetishisation.

There are quite a few bears that go my fave GLBT club but I don`t think of them as obese. They are large and warm and sometimes delightfully hairy, but they don`t strike me as ready to kick the bucket cuz of their awesome bellies. Though that only holds true for the bears I know, personally.

I'd like to know who fucked you up so bad that you hate women so much? I might give you the same advise.

This is a discussion about the perversion known as BBW and the men who find them attractive (AF's).

There is no hate coming from this end of the wire.

So far, your posts in this thread have all been personal attacks upon me...if you are unable to discuss the topic like an adult, please feel free to post elsewhere.

QUESTION?

Is there a label for women who prefer larger women? I ask this because all of my previous girlfriends have weighed anywhere from 60 to 100 pounds more than me. (they are usually a bit taller too) Any of them would be considered overweight, maybe even clinically obese. So do women who prefer lushness get a label?

v, i think you're barking up the wrong tree.
lance is (and i don't think he'd be able to deny this with a straight face) a bit of an arsehole who thinks it's funny when people get overly wound up by words, from a total stranger, on an internet site.
i don't think you're scoring any hits with this screwed over by womens line. i think you're just making him smirk wider.

Not that I know of...but "Chubby Chaser" is the old term used for men who like fat women, so I see no reason why the term can't be considered gender-neutral.

Dolf, you are correct that calling me names like "hater" has no effect...because first and foremost, I'm not a hater and secondly because if I choose, I can out-insult lightweights like Vroseola, often without their even knowing what I've just called them.

Am I happy knowing the GB has become infected by low self esteem fatties and gender-bender/trannies engaged in a near-constant Playground Wankfest?

No.

Am I able to make the best of it?

Yes!

I would much rather have fun with a vivacious and positive thinking BBW, than date a miserable, constantly complaining waif.

Of course you would, anyone would. That's not the real question though...

I'm not going to win any friends by my next couple of comments but here goes...

I'm pretty sure that any woman answering honestly would prefer to not be overweight for many reasons. Health and shopping included. You can profess happiness all you want but I believe you had to work to reach that conclusion as hard as any diet. I think it's more of a resignation...

As far as men go, and this is only my take on it, I think they lack a self confidence as well. How do I put this delicately? They may think it's easier to bed or date an overweight woman thinking, mistakenly or not, that she has less self esteem and therefore would be less picky or easier prey...

Basically, it all boils down to deviance in one form or another...

Well put...it's very rare to see anyone actually discuss anything on the GB, so thanks for keeping it real.

One is reminded of the old "scooter" joke...that fat girls are like scooters; they might be fun to ride, but you wouldn't want to be seen on one.

Cruel, but with the ring of truth.

I'm all in favor of deviant behavior...it's the excuses and self-victimization rationalizations that I find disturbing.

*makes sammiches for everyone*

whole wheat bread
smoked turkey
fresh tomatoes
crisp lettuce
thinly sliced onion
a little bit of mayo (the real stuff - not the miracle crap)

mmmmmmmm...

what is considered attractive or unattractive is generally decided by what is less easily achieved by those of low social status.

where food is in short supply, fat is attractive.
where fatty food is plentiful, skeletal becomes the aim.
when most people worked outdoors, pale skin was desired.
when foreign holidays were the aim, deep tans came in.
when cloth was expensive, billowing layers were the rage.
when cloth was cheap, less was more.
where walking was the norm, uncomfortable shoes or foot binding won.
when physical labour hardened most bodies, softness was sought.
where cars were plentiful and flab formed, toned was the new goal.

i thought everybody knew that.

No, I didn't and have actually never thought about that or noticed it. Thanks for the actually useful and informative post. Perhaps you aren't really the idiotic moron everyone has assumed all along.

I'm guessing there would be a link between these rankings and the number of fast food outlets...

I notice Canada happens to not be on this particular list. Isn't the OP from Canada? Every survey I've seen puts Canada in the top ten of overweight nations as well (lower than the US but fairly high). What would you expect from the land of Tim Horton's on every corner?

Dyke? :D

I think I agree with image about women wanting not to be overweight, I think that's true but the problem comes when you have to decide what is overweight, as has been pointed out it can be something different for everyone. And I'm not sure just 'not being overweight' is going to fix every fat woman's problems and insecurities. I think you have to do it the other way round.

I agree with you, especially on the men's part. I have actually had a guy friend tell me that he liked being with bigger girls because they were easier to get into bed, because they were "lonely & desperate", as he put it. Needless to say, we're not really friends anymore......;)

Image, there are other reasons to be attracted to people with non-mainstream beauty. I'm attracted to bigger guys, people with acne scars, non-proportionate features, and other non-barbie dolls. People who can't conform to popular beauty standards aren't freaks, but they get treated like they are. I think I'm attracted because when you're that different from the so-called norm, you (sometimes) start to cultivate a different sort of inner life, a different sensitivity and a surprising outlook. Being attracted to that is deviance?

When I see the "BBW phenomenon" it just points to that masculine thing of objectification of desired women and obsessive collecting, just like the "Red head phenomenon" "Big Breasted" "Small breasted" "Black girls" "Blonde girls" yadda yadda yadda. Nothing particularly deviant there. They know what they want.

When it comes to happiness, well there was a time when women in general were just "resigned" to being women, too. That said more about what was going on around them, than something being inherently wrong with them. It's pretty much the same in this situation isn't it?

Yeah, you couldn't possibly be more wrong with that statement.

You mean my fat ass is supposed to give me a sexual advantage?!

I'm bummed. I wouldn't be lonely and sexually frustrated if that was the case. lol

Maybe I lack the air of desperation?
