I hate to say it but I have stereotyped certain individuals by habits, mannerisms, and social settings. The following example is the worst type of individual for me to ever be around.

I don't disagree with you, but that is an overstatement. A twenty year old man who has consensual sex with his 17 year old girl friend is not raping her, but he can be charged with rape. I don't really study martial arts because I feel that I need to defend myself, although I'm sure it might come in handy some day, but more because 1) it's very empowering, and I give back to the community by helping to teach self-defense to women who really NEED to know it, and 2) I have a competitive streak a mile wide and I love the tournaments.

I started studying Kendo at the "suggestion" of a therapist, who I had been assigned to by DCFS (I was in foster care), because of self esteem problems that resulted from being serially raped by a big tough man when I was a tween (and yeah, he thought that I needed a slap on the back of the head periodically too). I was lucky enough to ended up studying under one of the highest ranked Sensei in the US at the time. He taught me that it was okay to walk away from a fight, but that it was never okay to walk away if a weaker person (male or female) was in harms way.
