TUCSON - Source - News 4 that 13 people are shot, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and six people are dead after a man opened fire at a Northside political event held by the Tucson congresswoman.

No confirmation on Giffords' condition at this time, but sources at the scene confirm that the shooter is in custody. It happened at the shopping center at Ina and Oracle this morning.

Law enforcement agencies confirm that the FBI is now handling this investigation.

The man on CNN being interviewed right now - an Arizona opinion columnist - is already blaming the right for hate rhetoric and "fueling the fire". He's saying that politics in AZ is at a boiling point, and that guns there are a "fetish". (He also well-qualified himself and his comments in terms of his political leanings, which was refreshing.)

And so it begins. Way too early for this type of speculation, I believe.
