I posted some Chrissy cards to NZ today and that's the extent of my Christmas shopping

I'm making donations to charities in lieu of sending gifts overseas. My kids will be delighted to know they're helping disadvantaged Aussie kids get an education thanks to The Smith Family :cattail:

Now that sounds perfect! :) Hope you are having a wonderful week.

news :)

i finally have my youngest child living with me again!
sadly - he was actually kicked out of his dad's house (but the b*****d was too cowardly to be there, so he and new wifey left the house and made the elderly grandparents tell him!)
anyway, he's here, and there is no way in hell i will ever let him go back.
and i sincerely hope that gutless b*****d is reading and copying everything i'm saying! i got your texts buddy - don't even BEGIN to try and force this child to come back! not after what your parents said to him!
i just spent an entire year encouraging my son to STAY with his dad and evil step-mommy! because i didn't want to make him choose between us :(

as for the girl-child....
well, she ran away (again. 3rd time now).
she's currently living on the streets or couch-surfing.
but she's about to get a rude awakening - because i have FINALLY managed to get the authorities involved and she's been listed as 'at high risk', which i believe means they can now step in and get court-ordered custody of her.
which means she will have to go live where they say, and she will have to go back to school (she quit school when she ran).

anyway - all is slowly coming back to equilibrium... and the mucho cuddles and loves from the youngest kidley bean are making my heart sing

It sounds like your son is now where he needs to be. You are a warm and wonderful mom.

So sorry to hear your daughter has been such a trial. You have done everything to try to make things right for her and I think you've done the best for her by getting the authorities involved.

Hope you are taking care of you too! :rose:

i'm giving eyesight.
one operation each for the family members thro the Fred Hollows Foundation :)
i firmly believe that is what xmas should be about - giving something worthwhile to those who have nothing.

(plus, it's the only thing that makes all the fuss and bad music - and all those bloody xmas movie repeats! - worth going thro!)

{{{{{WQ}}}}} Now that is a wonderful gift!

Funny you should post about your kids WQ-my youngest whom some might remember ran away (she called it moving out) last year when Wife and I were in Adelaide, moved back in a week or so ago. She seems older and wiser, but time will tell I guess. She's making all the right noises anyway and at this stage that's enough.

I like the Oxfam idea of donating a goat-as it happens I'm raising money myself next year. I've entered a team for the Oxfam Trailwalker in Melbourne, appropriately on April 1st. This event is for teams of 4 to run/walk/crawl 100km withing 48 hours. Apparently Melbourne is easier than the Sydney or Brisbane events-I'll reserve judgment as it looks damn hard to me right now! The route goes from Jells Park in Wheelers Hill to Wesburn Park in Wesburn. Unfortunately, Mt Dandenong is between the 2.
There are various fundraising targets, we have a soft $1000 to raise, in addition to our $600 entry fee (not from fundraising-we pay that). Our aim is to surpass the fundraising limit and to do the 100km under 18 hours-in fact I think we've decided to aim for 16. After Christmas I'll put up a link to our fundraising page-this isn't the right time to be begging for money!

Hello, a quick up date for those interested in the wager between Callie and I.

I've just have a wonderful time with Callie, (thank you darlin :rose:). Our side bet on the second test has been paid in full
Unfortunatley you wont get to see the pics, because someone forgot to take off the lens cap!!!

Third test starts soon, so we'll try again then. :D

AP! Missed you so much! Where have you been?

Whatever do you mean? I've been here the whole time!!

Are maybe you've just gotten so used to me poking ya bum you didn't feel it :p

*hugglepokes*

You better have been keeping outta trouble, Wombie...or it's the AP naughty list for you!

Hope you've been well xo

good to hear that your daughter has come home :rose:
unfortunately, mine isn't anywhere near close to figuring things out yet - at the moment i'm the 'bitch/cunt/dog' who's stopping her from doing all the things she wants to do (like alcohol, drugs and unprotected sex).
and being in the headspace she's at right now, quite honestly i don't want her to come back into my home like that!

thankyou :rose:

as parents, we do try our best. but sometimes our best just isn't going to change the mind of a wilful child.
eventually though, i am confident that the grounding she has been given for so many years will rise again, and she'll come back to being a loving family member.

and yes - i am taking care of me (helped enormously by many hugs from the littlest kidley bean!)

Sorry Callie darlin, but judging by day one of the third test, you'll be paying up again

Maybe I'll take pity on you....
