The Ginger Sisters' Carnival (OOC, Casting)

hmmm sounds interesting. a love interest could be there (she being young naive will do anything in the name of love for you), a jealous little sister wanting more power, an angry sister wanting to hurt the normies because of their prejudices. so many things to choose from and an accomplice would be nice.

I was thinking the along the same lines but from the other perspective. I peeked at your profile and had thought that the she might be a strong, intelligent but devious woman wanting to oust her sister, who might seduce my character seeing his need for love and acceptance as a weakness to exploit. As he can't read people he would be ripe for exploitation especially if she was his first love. If his reading ability ever came back, or you healed him, it could mean fireworks......

Either way I feel a good story starting to take shape.

I can't wait to jump into this story. I'm brewing up ways in which he'd exist and interact with the other members of the carnival.

My character will have just turned 18, but all in all, he's still "the kid" of the carnival crew. Maybe this story arc will be where he puts childish ways to the side and starts to act more mature.

The only plot-related thing I can really think of contributing, as far as my character is concerned, is him piecing together what happened to him, and what happened to his uncle. Maybe the "big bad" in this story could have have been somehow involved with his accident (or would that be too cliche?)

I have a writing-style question though... how does a multi-writer role play work? do we figure out an order, and each post goes in order? or is it all random? Is there a thread anyone can post that's a good example on how it'd work? (I've only read 2-writer stories so far,haven't come across any with multiple writers...)

There's a few going on, but from what i've found and find most easy going for everyone is that everyone posts and goes MOSTLY in that order. Mostly cuz if someone asks your character a question you don't have to wait for everyone to post to post your answers. Though longer posts are better if your in a multi-person thread but only two characters are interacting that way everyone else isn't reading 10 posts between two people before they could jump in with their own posts.

Interesting, I missed that bit of Heroes but the idea is very appealing to me in a Cirque Du Freak kind of way. I have two ideas for characters, a contortionist and a magician's assistant.

I know this character's ability might seem pretty powerful but it's in the hands of a really timid guy so that should put a decent limitation on what it can do (eg. no decapitating people with his mind kind of thing). If anyone gets the joke in the name let me know (hint: it also involves "Eastman").

Name: Peter "Patricia" Rando
Age: 20
Special Gift: Manifest Imagination. Peter can temporarily create or change things with his mind. The ability requires more focus the more complex and detailed the object or change is and thus cannot stay active for extended periods.
Carnival Act: Magician's Assistant

Appearance: Shoulder length black hair, clear blue eyes and brown skin are common traits inherited from his homeland in India. Peter has a very effeminate and slender face and body, sometimes causing him to be confused for a woman. He stands at 5'7".

Biography: Peter left his country to escape from the pressure placed on him by his family for an arranged marriage to a rather wicked young woman. He was wandering the streets as his abilities began to manifest and started to pay his way with fake money he created. The cash would rarely last more than a minute and resulted in Peter being chased down many a street, occasionally receiving beatings or a run in with the police.
Deciding that he needed real money, Peter managed to find work in a sleazy strip club as a cleaner at first. As he exercised his ability more and more Peter found that he could even make an entire person. He began detailing a woman in his head over the months and one night asked the owner of the place if his friend could try out for a stage job.

At first the crowd loved her. Exotic dark skin and curves in all the right places, she seemed to have no shame on stage and eagerly showed off for the crowd night after night as in Peter's mind he had created he with a desire to erotically please. He could only make her exist for about fifteen minutes at a time and was exhausted afterwards, but the money from two jobs was good even if they were both low paying. Over the course of a few weeks Peter began to fall in love with his own creation, changing her in subtle ways, making her his perfect woman.

Peter's desires had an unfortunate side effect. With the perfect woman came a perfect morality unbidden from his mind. One night when he conjured her up she refused to go on stage, saying that she would only dance for him in private. The owner of the establishment was infuriated that she changed her mind right before the show. He forced her out on stage and when she ran behind a curtain and dissapeared the owner demanded that Peter show him where she was hiding.

She had ceased to exist and Peter couldn't tell the man anything. He was fired and cast back out onto the streets. Still having some money left he went to see the circus to try and cheer himself up. During the performances he spotted that the Magician had a lone act whereas most of the ones he had heard of on television had an aide, usually an attractive young woman.

After the show, Peter went to see the managers for a job. He altered his form, growing breasts and adding curves, even heightening the pitch of his voice to match that of his imaginary dream woman and taking the name "Patricia". He used his abilities for a demonstration, faking that (s)he "knew all the tricks". The sisters refused him a job, and he broke down and admitted to cheating for his audition and begged them to take him. When they asked him how he could possibly have cheated he showed them, reverting to his notmal body and making a house of cards appear suddenly on the table, then turning the cards into cheese and melting them before they dissapeared.

The Ginger sisters took him aside and explained the nature of their carnival, that they had refused him because normal people working alongside their "very special collection of close friends" in the main acts would likely cause problems. They took him on board and he now assists Max with the magic act as a woman, even helping create some new tricks which were impossible to mimic without Patricia. Occasionally he practices in private, dreaming of being the magician and announcing himself as "The Amazing Rando".

Name: Emelia Ginger
Age: 25
Special Gift: The ability to stretch, flex, swell or flatten any part of her body to an incredible degree as she chooses, allowing her to curve in places that would break the bones of others. She cannot morph into another creature by doing this but can alter her proportions dramatically to emulate almost any shape.
Carnival Act: Contortionist, Acrobat and Daredevil acts alongside "Stumpy" McGee. Also helps to manage the show.

Appearance: Emelia is an very small young woman at 4'1" and with proportions to match she looks like a miniature person. With creamy white skin, hazel eyes and flaming red hair she helps to make the contortionist act one of the most eagerly looked forward to events of the show. Most of the time she remains in costume which is revealing green lingere style bikini with thin elbow gloves and boots to match. Emelia usually makes herself much taller and more busty for her acts as she knows that most people find that kind of body most appealing.

Biography: Emelia had a fairly normal life up until she started to get "curious". She was reported to her father Damon for "indecent behaviour" involving some of the younger carnival patrons. Discovering her strange new body coupled with the realisation that she liked to swing both ways, Emelia began dating left and right, developing a very devious taste for strange and unusual sexual acts.

Shortly thereafter Damon barred her from having "friends" over and she was not allowed to go out alone after carnival hours, for fear that she would show off and someone would discover her abilities. Emelia spent the rest of her early years in almost total social solitude with the exception of the carnival workers and when she was old enough she moved away from the carnival immediately. Over the years she worked many odd jobs for unsavoury establishments but managed to find a position as a drinks mixer at a topless bar.

Emelia enjoyed all the attention but soon found that she wanted more than being stared at and the job was driving her crazy with pent up desire. She began venturing out from behind the bar to deliver drinks and when not mixing then she would mingle with the crowd, actively seeking out those who would grope and grab. Emelia began to try pushing her body more and more. Larger bust, smaller waist, bigger booty, longer legs. She was never satisfied and soon developed a fetish for being forced into strange shapes, tied up and squeezed into tight spaces (preferrably between two other people). Sex had never been better.

She was fired for "informally conducting business in an unsuitable manner" and moved on, looking for a place that would allow her to make use of her "flexible" needs. She saw the carnival in town and was instantly stuck on the idea of being contorted into shapes and squeezed into tight spaces all day.

Having been away from family for about five years now, Emelia went to see the show immediately, but noticed that Damon was no longer performing. She went to her sister Sheila after the show who explained what had happened. The carnival still had room for more acts so Emelia decided she would stay and help out. She now works as a contortionist and acrobat, also assisting "Stumpy" McGee in his daredevil act.
