Going on seven years now, since my incept date of September, 2003, I have been pleased to make the acquaintance of dozens of interesting people, male and female, writers and thinkers, an eclectic gathering from all walks of life, and several corners of the world, that have added humor and challenge to my foray’s on this forum.
During the ‘Bush” years on the forum, the ‘out’ party, whined and complained daily in hundreds of threads bashing Bush and the Right, or Republicans, in general, for every ill of the world from Global Warming to Katrina. Few had the audacity to challenge the overwhelming clutch of cackling hens that swarmed any who dared speak against them.
Now the tide has changed and the 'out' party is the 'in' party, and the challenges have erupted from the other side. Not once in the years of Bush bashing, did anyone attempt to stifle the clamour from the Left, rather, it was met with reasonable and rational discourse.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a diagnosis for those obsessed with a fetish of some sort, in this case, a political persuasion; and compulsive behavior, by attempted to confine what is supposed to be an open environment, to a closed one.
The ‘Exhibitionist’ behavior came into play as this small, but vicious minority of the forum, decided to ‘Spam’ any conflicting point of view with hard core explicit Pornographic pictures having no connection to the Thread content they Spammed.
The ‘Control Freak’ aspect of the mental disorder displayed; is the continuing attempt to censor any opinions that conflict with this small group’s political persuasion.
The forum was subjected to this just recently and after months of pestering the owners of the site, held a poll in which forum members at large were invited to vote for an open free speech forum, or a controlled, moderated one.
Free Speech won out by a two-thirds majority; those who voted to maintain Free Speech are listed in my Signature Line.
I don’t hate these people; they are sick and should be treated for OCD and more, but that is their concern, not mine.
What I will do, is to suggest that those of you who appreciate a free speech forum, observe the methods used to attempt to squelch and control free speech on this forum. They are but a small handful of mentally impaired who scurry about from Post to Post that they disagree with and trash whatever content they disagree with. To most, they are known to the community as Trolls, seeking self-aggrandizement to the degree of even posting their horrid attempts at erotic writing along with plagiarized, copy and paste pornographic pictures.
They will tire of it soon enough and I am not troubled; but for those new to the forum and those who appreciate an intellectually free thinking environment, I ask that you make note of who these Trolls are and act accordingly.
