Quick question about continuing a story before it' approved

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been covered anywhere before. If it has, sorry and feel free to get rid of this thread.

I have a story, Toni's Tale (shameless plug goes here: http://www.chyoo.com/index.php/main.story.cover/7147). It's yet to be approved. That's all good. I've been updating it steadily since first submitting it. I just want to know if updating my story before it's approved will mean it takes longer to approve it in the first place?

If it does, no biggie, I'll just keep writing in my book and then update my story post-approval. I'd just like to know if I should stop updating on chyoo for the time being.

No, adding to the story won't make it take longer to approve.

It's possible that it lowers your chances of getting wide notice, though. Remember, a lot of how people find new stories is by seeing the constant notice in the new chapters listing. If you add a bunch before approval, then you show up less times on the list (since it is based on submission date regardless of approval status).

I didn't even think of that, even though that's exactly how I find new stories myself.

Regardless of what I do, I'll keep writing. I think I'll postpone my updates now until it's released and then I'll do further, regular updates.
