Frog Hunt

I've been watching my tadpoles turn into frogs in my garden pond but when I returned for a few days away last weekend, the frogs had vanished.

The remaining tadpoles were still fine and eating well.

Yesterday we did some weeding in the garden. Everywhere we dug, there were tiny frogs scuttling away. They were all more than five yards away from the pond.

You know that rule of thumb, "Add three months to the Sell-by date to get the Eat-by date?"

Well, I can tell you firsthand that it is a serious load of crap.

I'm having a hard time with this kata...damn it.

"Mama, mama, we went to town. Inside, outside, upside-down!"

That's presuming Spidey read the Berrington Bears, of course.

There's four katas called H-forms, and every single one of them seems backwards to me. It's tough, and my next testing date is coming up fast - Aug. 13.

I'm testing soon as well, and I keep screwing up the one form that I have to know.

And my spear form too. But most of those screw ups are because I'm tired from screwing up the other form...

My mother's oldest brother died today, and she is handling it really badly. Worse than when her father died.

Epiphany!!!!!

I've been having trouble with this one move that's in a couple of katas, and just a sort of offhand remark from the instructor in a beginner's class tonight fixed it for me!!!

Happy dance!

My dog just came in, sat down, farted and ran away...what is my husband teaching him?!?!

Problems With Living On A Golf Course #21:

When the greenkeepers wake you up with their annoyingly loud machinery.

I am watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix for the first time. It is a well-written, well performed story. I'm enjoying it. However, in season 2, the drama surrounding the Coach's 15/16 year old daughter is really getting rough. I'm looking at my eleven year old daughter, and it scares me. Is it a given that when children become teenagers, they turn into smart-mouthed, rebellious, trouble-making mosters? Is there any hope that she will turn into a person who is successful and happy and still loves her family when she's finished maturing?

I'm one scared Mama

Thank you, but I had no actual attachment to him. I met him three times. I was more worried about my mother. She got quite drunk that night. She appeared much better the next day, but who really knows but her?

Tht kind of pain tends to come in and recede like waves, gradually increasing the time between as they diminish in strength.

No, it is not a given. I was a high school librarian. Teens are individuals.

It is not a given. Common? Yeah, but more apparent than real, IMO. I've known lots of teens who were happy and well-behaved, at least most of the time. Moodiness does seem part of maturation, unfortunately.
