Swords Sex and Sorcery (group thread OOC)

Does Wicca even exist in Dungeons and Dragons? D&D has "real" gods, with real codes for their followers. There is no need for a washed-down witchcraft religion.

well I am just putting my own twist on it,and like unicorn chick or dude I am wiccan to and if you don't like my character fine don't interact with her and you can shove off for all I care i am not in this thread to impress you.

And thanks to whoever likes my character

I liked it, and were not really doing a dnd thread, I am just basing my character of a dnd affliction based lycanthropy. Kitten would have told us if this was a dnd rp.

I know its not d&d but when someone says something is washed up they need to check up I mean it didn't offended but it pissed me off so I am just going to ovoid her in the rp bc I want to be in this thread i wanted to before but things came up.

Kitten wanted my character so I did what everyone else did and I don't think people need to be like that if they are judgmental then they shouldn't be in a thread with multi characters that is my opinion :D

Meh I am okay with most things, now I am of to bed before I pull an all nighter again.

Yea I need to work on essays and get up early but its like seven pm here so I am good for now and need to play catch up on my threads,

Dravyn, the problem I have with you is not so much that you are a Wiccan. I consider all religions stupid, and Wicca more so because to me, it´s just one of those groups teenagers join because they need to feel special and unique (then again, "we are the chosen people of God"...). As far as religions go, it is way too young and lax, and feels like a scam.

And yet, I still can respect people believing in silly, childish things like that because... well, because I also believe in silly, childish things (just not religions, screw that noise), and science is still pretty limited. If we ever met in real life and you told me you were Wiccan, I might be interested and ask you about it.

The problem I have with you, is that you brought a real life "religion" into a generic fantasy game. And that is a VERY bad idea, because then we have to be politically correct not just around you, but around your character.

One of the reasons all fantasy settings have specifically-tailored pantheons of gods is that often, you find religious conflicts in these stories. "WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW" and similar things. And people can be offended by that, and think that the people behind a character are actually speaking their own minds about that religion.

And that´s one of the reasons you do not mix real life and fantasy religions. Because fantastic conflicts become real ones.

Another reason is that it is kinda creepy. This is a personal feeling I get, mind you, not something objective. I know Literotica is mostly a place for wish fulfillment (and what a horrible, horrible place that makes it sometimes), but wish fulfillment in here of things you actually do in real life... or of such deep themes like religion... it seems like an obsession to me.

I am officially Catholic. The only time I have ever played a Catholic character (AND made that a main trait of her) was because she was Irish during the Victorian age, which I figured was appropriate. I did not try to push my own religion (which I couldn´t care less about, actually) into the setting for no discernible, clear reason. I do not constantly make Catholic characters. I COULD, but I don´t because that´s just not interesting and because this kind of thing is what might happen.

So what I´m trying to say is that my intolerant reaction was owed to the creepiness I felt from someone trying to shoehorn real life religions into a fantasy setting. I apologize if I offended you, and to be quite honest the setting is kinda undefined so it is perfectly possible that Wicca exists in it. I would rather there were no trouble between us, or our characters, over this.

Just have in mind that if you put real life characteristics of yourself into your characters, it is only a matter of time before drama occurs.

well to me you come off as an egotistical ass who thinks they need to be on top of things and people who are playing druids kind of tie into wicca if you think about it with the healing and shit and yet you have no problem. I don't have to explain myself and your the only fuck that is complaining people seem to like my character so back off oh and btw I am from a catholic background and I am not a child or believe in childish things it's about nature

Let's not drag this on, religions are religions, they do not decide what personality a person who believes in it has, so let's just move on and forge the whole, possible crusading wiccan thing, *finally dinishes for the day and collapses on his bed*

I am not dragging it out but she the one who had to put her two cents in when I could careless I didn't ask her to explain herself I don't care what she had to say it's her opinion I am just ignoring it but ya know I was baptized as catholic when I was a baby and I don't think it is to personal she just a character so I don't know why she the only one who freaking out.

Character!

Player: Liliannasidhe
Character: Victoria Kakita (Kakita Yukari)
Appearance: http://www.templates.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Kakita-Taminoko-by-Mario-Wibisono.jpg
Profession: Duelist, Dancer, Singer, Martial Artist, Wanderer, Ex-Noble
Race: Human (Rigenshikani)
Race Description: Rigen Shikai (as I have effectively just created) is effectively mystical Japan. Therefore, Victoria is Japanese-ish, though the proper term would be Rigenshikani
Age: 20
Equipment: Victoria carries only a few possessions from her former life. She has a few outfits suitable for court functions, kimonos and sandals and the like, as well as a pair of silver-chased ebony chopsticks, usually used to pin up her hair. Other than that, she has a small steel and lapis pin worked into the mon (symbol) of her clan and a small sachet full of cherry tree seeds. Her most prized possession is her blade, Kakita's First Edge, a master-crafted katana, blessed by the Yogo Monks and traditionally carried by the master of the Kakita Dueling Academy. She carries it with her almost always. She also carries an empty scabbard that should hold the companion wakizashi, but it lies empty because if a bushi's soul is her katana and her wakizashi is her honor, than she has lost the right to carry the short blade, though she keeps the wakizashi stowed in her traveling pack, awaiting the day she may take it up again. She has an elaborately worked fan, steel covered in silk, that she carries to society and court functions. In a pinch, the folded fan can also be used as a bludgeoning device, and the spines are very sharp indeed. Other than these possessions, she has the standard adventuring gear, pack, tight-fitting leathers, boots, a cloak, and so forth. Kakita's First Edge may well be magical, as it was created by priests of the kami, the Rigenshikani gods, but if it is, she doesn't know how to call its power. To her, its is merely a very fine, possibly blessed blade.
Powers: No magic to speak of. However, her focus and tranquility in battle can be wielded like a weapon, allowing her to focus on the battle to the exclusion of all else, making her even faster and more graceful and deadly than before. It is most dangerous in a duel, just before the blades begin to move, when she can focus, harness her chi, and deliver the killing blow on her first strike, as the Kakita Masters teach is proper.
Personality: In life, she is very pleasant, exquisitely courteous, and somewhat soft-spoken. She enjoys art and beauty a great deal, and takes pleasure in its creation as well as its observation in all things, including people of both sexes and nearly any race. She often seems slightly sad. Her exterior conceals a reserve of inner fire and a mind like a steel trap, however. In court and social dealings, she is much like her weapon, sharp and brilliant, content to wait for that perfect, endless second to strike. Sexually, she is mature enough to have had it, even experimented a fair bit with both men and women, but the life of a duelist and a noble doesn't leave a whole lot of time for carnal pleasure, and as such she is not a raging nymphomaniac. She does enjoy it a great deal, however. She just fears becoming close to people, having lost so many.
History: Kakita Yuriko grew up in the northwestern-most corner of the mainland of Rigen Shikai. The small, fortified city she lived in was called Satsuki Yami (Midsummer's Darkness), and the Castle it was built around was known as Last Step Castle. The town got its name from the time of year, midsummer, when the Gaki (Spirits of the dead) and the Oni (Demons) would rise, marshal their legions, and attack Rigen Shikai out of the Shadowlands in the northwest, a campaign fought for six months of every year, starting at the midsummer. The castle got its name because if you stepped out beyond castle and the walls at any time during the campaign, it was the last step you ever took. She began training as a courtier and a duelist very young, and by fourteen had taken her gempukku, her ascension to adulthood. She was given her blades, and became a courtier at the castle with her clan, the Clan of the Crane, though she still practiced swordsmanship. As a courtier, she learned about art and beauty, and took up music and dancing in her free time. Her life was happy, navigating the webs of courtly intrigue, composing songs, dancing, attending parties, and honing her Iaijutsu (Art of the Duel). All this came crashing down when she was nineteen, at the midsummer, just days before her birthday. The forces of shadow were beginning their assault, again, but this time, there was a traitor in the castle. Daigotsu Furumaru, advisor to the Daimyo of the Crane, had opened the gates in the dead of night, allowing the creatures access to the city. Everyone, man, woman, child, pet, all were slaughtered, and the army sacked the city before moving on to attack the less-fortified holdings to the south and east. The monsters would not enter sacred ground, and so Yuriko, meditating at the Temple of Thunders, had been spared death, but not the agony of watching her city fall. Unarmed and alone, she could not possibly have turned the tide, but she curses her own cowardice every day, seeing it as a betrayal of her family, her clan, and her honor. Alone in the ruins, she went first to Last Step Castle, where she learned of Furumaru's deceit. Enraged, she journeyed to the Kakita Academy. Its halls were full of death, but the academy still stood. In the chamber of the Masters, she found what she had sought, Kakita's First Edge and Kakita's Will, the daisho carried by the legendary founder of the family and school. Seeing herself as without honor, she placed the short sword in her bag, and took up the katana. There, in the blood-drenched halls of the academy, surrounded by her friends and teachers, she vowed to seek out and kill the man responsible for the destruction of everything she had known. From the ruins of Satsuki Yami, she journeyed south, hunting the betrayer Furumaru. She eventually found that he had taken a ship across the ocean, and set out after him, taking the westernized name Victoria Kakita, dogging him halfway across Farrain, eventually bringing her to Helvunova, where the trail has gone cold...

Katana was a result of a rape case her mother was a Wiccan who dealt with basically earth and healing magic. Growing up was not hard neither was it easy the youngest out of seven siblings she had to work very hard to prove she was worthy on account her father was a harden criminal who was wanted for countless things. Mostly defending herself she set out on adventure where she saw the signs and thought maybe it would be a good idea to check it out.

(hope this is okay I can edit if need be)

Her name is Katana?

Isn't that what it said or should I come up with a noble name to suit you? i like the name Katana and instead of quoting the whole thing you could have just asked instead of taking up space.

Preoww.

(I mean, for starters, you could COME UP with a name.)

well maybe I didn't want to I don't have to impress anyone and you should talk you asked if her name was katana and it was written on the bio I mean honestly you that stupid you have to ask?

There's a difference between trying to impress people and then having the decency to spend more than five minutes on an app.

Let's try and compare your app and Liliannasidhe. (Sorry, Liliannasidhe, not trying to drag you into anything.)

While your app uses eight words to describe your character's personality, Liliannasidhe's uses eight lines. I can see from her app that she actually put some thought and enthusiasm into this character, and I can expect quality posts from her because she has something to work with. From yours, however, I get the impression that you honestly don't care, that your posts are going to be between two and three lines long, and that the rest of us are going to have nothing to work with; the reason is that, from the start, you have nothing to work with. You don't have a detailed image of who this character is going to be from the get-go, all you have is a blank slate with a few generic character traits glued onto it with no real personality.

And that's just a tiny part of it. You've put little to no thought into any part of your character, and you just give us, or me, at least, no reason to care about her.

And her name is Katana.

I put thought into my character and I write paragraph posts on some of my fucking writing with other partners you don't like my character than fuck off I don't care if you want an interest in my character you and that one whore is the only one who has a problem with my character. I seen worse and what the fuck do you know about my writing absolutely nothing.

Oh, not to worry, proud, this is not the first time I've been dragged into a scrap. You should see the pissing match my sister and thewhiteone got into once. But since I'm here, ill hurl my two cents in.

On one side, Katana I find personally a shade of a problem, as I now have to refer to my sword by name, rather than by type, to avoid confusion, and "Kakita's First Edge" is just a bit cumbersome.

On the other hand, a lot of disenfranchised nobles throughout history would take names, usually in a foreign tongue, of random objects, just to distance themselves from their former lives. As this is mostly a western setting, most characters may not know what a katana is, and so it suits the assumed name purpose well enough.

As for her writing, she has a point. None of us know, yet. If its good, well, fucking fantastic. If its both short and bad (not saying it will be!) She'll get ignored, and it'll be a self correcting problem. Give her a shot, and see where it goes.

Thanks for the character compliments!

Dravyn, while I understand your frustrations, it might be a good idea to be just a little more civil. Id probably have done just the same thing, but fights can kill threads, and I for one, really want to play this one. Proud could have just asked, but you could have just said yes and left it at that. Now the threads in danger, and we haven't even started yet.

I am not the one who started it I am not leaving the thread kitten wants me in it so I am staying. I don't understand why they have such a problem and it's my nature for hostility. They just have just kept the things to themselves and ignored my character if they didn't like it.

As for the name I don't want to be like everyone else and have this dragged out foreign name I want to keep it simple and well katana works for me.

I see your point. We should stop trying to be like everyone else and actually make up names for our characters, we should just pick the first word that sounds good to come to our heads. I think I might name my character "Paddle" or "Club" or "Sock" or "Bread".

it wasn't something that popped in my head and if you don't like my character fine then don't interact with her and stop bashing me I am not leaving the thread in fact I am going to ignore you.

Actually it seems a little to to dramatized for me so I don't think I am going to join
