so by all that discussion you be in the military then? Yep I know about the 7.62mm at one time in my past I was the proof officer for that stuff..it used to cost us 42cents per round, but the quality was better than the US stuff, they use more so it was cheaper for them to make it but their quality was poorer..their theory was shoot lots more at the target, we on the other hand have to count our carts..the Kiwis are worse off they have to pinch the suff off us

as for Navy well I've worked with all three service areas and nobody likes anyone, but you have to admit Navy does have the best bases with some great views

i suppose you could say that. although they aren't really supposed to go round blurting that stuff out now are they???

and yes, bloody navy. get plenty more than their share of the good stuff. except those horrid new cams. eewww.

kiwis don't need ammo. get them drunk and let them fire mouthfulls of foul language down range. that lot can make anyone blush.

Hey Webbo,

Nope I hadn't forgotten the Mag 58 but the subtly of that would of gone over the head of a certain person up north...I really miss the smell of cordite in the morning..I'm in management these days and the Navy is in charge of ammo god help us....they told me once that they were specail because they sleep with their ammunition..I said well mate I guess it does get lonely out at sea...he didn't laugh

Yeah they are special - their boyfriends tell them every day :D:D:D

not everyone is getting the new gear. just the commandos and other assorted front liners eventually. pogues and other rear ech are sticking with the plastic fantastic for a long while yet. (so it goes on the grapevine we get get fed from)

7.62 weaponry is much more versatile in terms of glabal use. ergo cheaper to manufacture or buy rounds for.

and navy don't get jokes unless they are about underage asian hookers or ass fucking somebody.

Yep - at least with the good old L1A1 you knew you had a weapon to your shoulder when it fired, not like the Matel toy

Hey Webbo,

yes the L1A1 was nicer. The thing that got me with the Steyr when they were first introduced was the amount of plastic in it.... from NZ. I hadn't heard the term "plastic fantastic" for a long time until charlie mentioned it in her post. Brings back memories.

Must admit though firing off the minigun was fun....oh well ...we can't live in the past
