this is a thread for me and the smexiest Princess ever to throw ideas around for our upcoming SRP thread!

first idea I was thinking about:

When Oil Meets Water


Alexandra was born into a rich a family, went to the bests of school and now attended Juliard, a school of performing arts with the major in classical piano. Max was the complete opposite, born into a middle class family with a bit of musical talent in the guitar area. He too was accepted to Juliard under a scholarship.

Their worlds are combined when a teacher requires Alexa to find a guitar player for her recital which equals trouble beyond all reason.

I totally blame this idea on all those movies where a ballet dancer learns to dance hip hop and have absolutely NO clue how this would work as an rp

lol, yeah that's totally right out of one of those movies.

i think it might be even more of a "wrong side of the tracks" type tale if the guitar player doesn't attend juliard. maybe she's auditioned every guitar player at juliard and can't stand to work with any of them, for a variety of reasons. but then one day as she's walking down into the subway she hears this guy playing guitar, busking for change, and she's just entranced.

hmm... not necessarily. i think with the bad-boy idea, the bad-boy tries to corrupt some innocent girl, taking what he wants. this is more a rich girl - poor boy thing, where they develop some kind of relationship where they both need each other buy can't fit into each other's social worlds, which causes problems

okay good cuz I've done enough innocent girl converting into a slut type thread. Do you think it has potential to be a good thread, I mean I'm sure there needs to be more plot just because it'll get really boring if there isn't.

yeah, more plot would be good. there need to be some outside forces working on the characters. it obviously can't just be about the two of them hooking up. *yawn*

yeah exactly. Otherwise it gets uber boring. Um it shouldn't be that they get along right away, he would probably need the money and tolerates her and she needs his guitarist skills for a passing grade.

yeah. the guitar geek in me is trying to figure out what a piano-guitar duet type thing would be like.

Kay back um hm what else should be added to the plot, bitchy superficial friends for my character.

Bitchy superficial friends are pretty cliche, but it all depends on how we use 'em.

Maybe also... Pressure from parents to date some rich jerk she can't stand?
Maybe she already has an asshole of a boyfriend?
Maybe her family's not as rich as presumed, and there's a lot of pressure on her to do really well with the music (and modeling perhaps?) and be the breadwinner.

And what about our guitarist?

Yeah I already had the whole boyfriend thing settling in my mind for her.

for the guitarist it's pretty cliched for him to be doing it to get out of poverty maybe he just loves music?

Yeah not really sure just what to do with him. Maybe he lives poor by choice; gave up a middle class comfortable life to make it with his guitar. Gotta have the blues to be able to play the blues, right?

Or maybe he's just got a really self-destructive personality, and the hole he's in he dug himself. Can't get out because he likes to hit the bottle and the pipe too much whenever he has extra money to throw around.

That one sounds more fun. So um they meet on a subway then? Maybe she takes the wrong one home and gets lost and he offers to help her out for a minimal Amt of money

Hmm... If she got on the wrong train, she ought to be smart enough to make it back to where she's supposed to be going. The trains dont stop running in new york. Maybe she passes him everyday getting on or comin off the train on her way to school. Half the time he's too drunk or high to play all that impressively, but every now and then his guitar work is just plain magical.

Half the time he's too drunk or high to play all that impressively, but every now and then his guitar work is just plain magical.

Though if she's rich she has no business on a subway unless her limo is broken or something.

Julliard is a rather expensive school and new york can be an expensive city. And traffic sucks nuts. It's a lot easier to get around with the subway and occasional cab than be shuttled around in a limo all the time. They'd have to be obscenely wealthy to do that. Although maybe she just doesnt like to broadcast to all her classmates how much money she has. Or she'd rather spend the limo money on other things.

however I think it would be for the fact that she wants to spend her money on clothes and expensive music equipment because she has like a secret life, she hates anything classical or opera related because that's her parents interest not hers and she basically loves anything with a good beat

Hmm. Well... Actually this idea is not really gettin me all excited. It's no Blind Date, that's for sure. What else could we do?

Yeah it's not as exciting as it seemed at first. I mean when you first asked if I had any ideas I played with the idea of a sequel to blind date, but I've got no clue how that would even start. Unless we started from where she runs away from her brother?

We were actually or either having her get pregnant buut moving in sounds more fun. I believe we said they were going to try and be roommates and have a normal bro/sis relationship and date other people but of course only make one another jealous.

Hmm... I think the whole idea of them attempting to have a normal bro-sis relationship is a stretch. He's already proven hes willing to rape her. Why wouldn't he do just that every night if she had nowhere else to go?
