QUOTE :nana: boy Sorry Charlie but all of the above is a load of crap. It's quite the opposite in fact. The human reverse family tree is filling in nicely.

So you’ve swallowed all that fabricated, commie, pseudo science have you? Although as the lovely sarahhh :rose: highlighted, I can see where you belong on the reverse family tree. BTW, I like your new book cover. Mind you I was hoping there’d be an Armadillo in the picture.

So back to numbers, d.b. and mr tex were brave enough to post theirs.

oily  offered but so far hasn’t produced. I wonder if he’s going to produce them or not?

And of course the one person with the big mouth, robyn , a.k.a. Lloyd_5, pilot, freshface, ace, scribbles, ennuye… , hasn’t yet stepped up to the plate. I wonder why?

I wonder if his assistant from Michigan, his confrere in the M.C. club, will dare post hers. How about it little lady ?

I’m james r scouries and I can’t wait to read robyn’s numbers…

Dolphins can count …

What plate, Jim? I'm happy with the indexes the Web site has given us. I see no reason in wasting time and effort in mystical number indexes that you've cheated on. If you're happy with your fantasy world, so am I.

No need to add any commentary except to say the above is simply more of the same old, same old and that it perfectly highlights why the QUEEN :cattail: has to fix the system.

sounds pretty gutless sr71plt  a.k.a. ace, lloyd_5, pilot, robyn, drone, freshface, ennuye, etc.

You're one of a tiny minority that cares, scouries.

That horse is dead, has been reanimated, vanquished back into a jumble of bones, reanimated again, and you're still beating it like a redheaded stepchild.

Chapters have already been eliminated from the themed contests and Survivor. If anything is going to happen with the monthly contests at this point, it will. If not, then it's not going to happen.

You could salvage the economy just by keeping the windmill manufacturers in business, as often as you tilt at them.

And -- as always -- it really has nothing to do with chapters, or length, or category, or placement in the new list, or anything else. It all boils down to "If I didn't win, then it's rigged."

Somehow, by the same people who pay you umpteen dollars in "royalties" for your contribution to the site

But I digress...

Don Quixote Scouries? Miguel de Cervantes Scouries?

That’s a sorta Indian fatalistic way of looking at things d.b. I prefer a more activist role and I’m quite prepared to continue to point out the obvious problems with the present system.

One thing I’ve learned in my dealings with the good QUEEN :cattail: is that it takes a long time to turn LITEROTICA’S ship of state. And that if you don’t continue to remind her it may slip her mind completely. But if you do, and you make sense, eventually she’ll do the right thing.

“Beating it like a redheaded stepchild” Huh?

And I guess I must assume you're not going to help with the Excel thing?

I’m james r scouries and I back windmill power…

There is something definitely going on with my scores. When you only have 2 votes on a story, knowing they both came from friends with their own PC, and knowing they both gave me a 5, its hard to understand how my average is 4.0. Now, I also voted on that story. I suppose its ok if I'm not allowed to do that, but I know I voted for it and gave myself a 5.

Looks like that Hoover you guys talk about on here probably got upgraded to a Kerby. Maybe Laurel received a stimulus package to upgrade the website, or maybe that new server Manu installed a few weeks ago crapped out on him. Almost everyday, I see lower numbers. I wonder if they can wipe out the final two on me.

Not even sure I want to even try to write something for Earth Day, now. My Valentine numbers have gone down, too. Somebody needs to replace their batteries in their calculator. Shake em up, Jim!

I'm pretty sure that any vote you give yourself through the same computer you submitted the story will be wiped. Don't know how the discrepancy you point to happened, but I do think the voting system is all screwy. So, I just don't worry about it. All of the stories I post here sell, so I don't hyperventilate over how any of them are voted here. And I don't enter the contests anymore, because they are basically author popularity contests--doesn't reflect on the quality of the story at all.

QUOTE sarahhh :rose::rose: Hey, how about Dan Rooney, owner of the Steelers, being named Ambassador to Ireland on St. Patrick's Day? They'll be wearing black and gold instead of green in Ireland real soon. Well, speaking of green, I'm off to drink some green beer. Then Penguins hockey…Maybe tomorrow I'll do you a knocked-up cover.

I’ve got nothing against Mr. Rooney but why are we hiring a ninety year old to represent us in Ireland? What’s that going to cost us? The guy can hardly talk. Can’t we send Terry Bradshaw or something? And why does he want to go?

Hockey is starting to look pretty bleak for Panther fans these days… after suffering through their game tonight I too am now off in serch of some green refreshments...

Your covers are magnificent my lady. It’s not often you find a brilliant writer who also has an extraordinary talent for the visual arts. Keep up the good work.

So, you're going to use those covers on your imaginary books. Terrific. :)

Not surprising that three of them are incest tales. They're also among the first I published on Lit. It takes time for the votes to really add up, you know . . . .

I'll be waiting for my royalty check. ;)

He's busy trying to figure out the next line of attack in this failed strategy. "Yeah, but he didn't do it!" doesn't seem to be working too well.

Watching him stutter and drool as he tries to bend and warp reality to fit back into his fantasy when things go horribly wrong is simply exquisite.

When all else fails, he'll take a vacation on his yacht and conveniently disappear for a day or so. ;)

Unfortunately, all that accomplishes is more visits from "Gabby"

You'd think he'd be smart enough to take along such a convenient flotation device.

Too many punctures. :p Patch jobs can only do so much, you know. Maybe he's making do with giant, inflated dolphins.

Here's the cover I promised you. Please note that the lettering is like your lipstick posts. Now see, if you had a cover like this, you'd get more than 5 public comments on the story.

Is sex with fish bestiality?

Oh my, the "EX-CON'S BIG COCK" cover got zapped by Photobucket. I thought it might. I wonder if this one will too, what with TampaxRad's bait hanging out and all. Maybe they won't notice it. The ex-con's best feature is rather prominent, just like in scouries' story.

So what's with the ruckus about scouries and TampaxRad having story covers? Other authors have them.

Hey Jim, don't know if I'll get to more covers for you today, even though they only take about 10 minutes. I have to do my brackets. Just did one at ESPN.com. I'm playing in the "Around the Horn" group with a bunch of talking heads like Woody Paige and Jay Mariotti and more than 16,000 people. Go Pitt!

quote oily  It takes time for the votes to really add up, you know . . .I'll be waiting for my royalty check…Apparently, I'm waiting on a response, too

Thank you for your post. I’d been hoping you’d post the complete list but this was a very good first step.

But what’s with the sarcastic “I’m waiting…” crap. As I posted at 9:50 pm (post 6614) I was leaving to drown my sorrows in green beer after a Panther loss and was clearly unavailable for the rest of the night. Our Washington Avenue bars turned out to be awash with drunk, green beaded (and with little else on) coeds. Which was good!

As for your line - “It takes time for the votes to really add up” – while somewhat true it was VIEWS we had been referring to. And yes it does usually take quite a while to hit 100,000 views. Months usually and often years. Only once have I had a story hit the 100,000 view mark in under one month. It was my best seller “Ohhh Mommy”, I Groaned and it did it in only 10 days. Which was amazing.

Unfortunately my yacht is booked for the next little while so won’t be available to you. And please don’t swim in Galveston Bay. Those “giant, inflated dolphins” you’ve been seeing are actually the bodies of various species of aquatic life that have been killed by the pollution you guys have left in the Bay.

And hey, good luck in your ROYALTY negotiations with the QUEEN :cattail:. I have to warn you though, she’s a tough old broad when it comes to money. This is one female you wouldn't want to play poker with... mind you if it was strip poker...

I’m james r scouries and I can’t wait for football season to start…

My gawd sarahhh :rose: I cannot believe they zapped the Ex-Cons big cock! What kind of guidelines do these guys have anyway?

Re the big dance:

I’m leaning towards a Louisville – Memphis semi matchup on one side of the draw with the other side providing the big surprise FSU - Oklahoma. Just not convinced that Pitt can do it in the clutch.

Mind you I’ve always liked the Big East teams – I much preferred it when Miami was playing there. This ACC is for the birds!

My first round upset specials for you: Northern Iowa is going to squeak past Purdue (is that weirdo with the bad hair still coaching them?) and the old Hilltoppers over the Illini.
