Chicago Litogether 2009

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to think about it. I'll try to steel my courage and pop out for a night or two.

SweetSubSarahh, do people pay ahead of time or at the event?

*bumpin between my moving breaks* :D

Only a couple days to go!

ETA: I posted this after last years event. As it were, I seem to be finding myself having to explain to people what a Litogether really is, and not the drunken orgy that some seem to like to portray it as:

As I sit here with my cup of coffee, I cannot help but reflect upon my first Litogather and think what they truly mean.
A Litogather is NOT the orgy that many of the people whom have not attended one, seem to come to think. Yes, there are some whom get lucky, and others whom do not. Does it really matter if you got lucky? No, that should not have been your goal in the first place.
A Litogather is about being able to be in a place, where you can be whom you are, without persecution. Being able to sit down and discuss a topic, that despite our country's claim of openess, is still quite a bit shunned. To be able to openly discuss the many aspects of sex. It is for the young couple just learning D/s lifestyle to learn from the more experienced couple. It is a place to learn how to properly give your mate a relaxing massage. A place to learn how to please your partner with different tricks others have passed on.
A Litogather is about being able to meet and spend time with those of whom you have chatted with on the boards and enjoyed each others writing work. It is about sharing writing techniques and discussing works in progress. But it is about the laughter, the jokes, the good times that we all shared. Its an escape from a straightlaced world, to a world where you are accepted for enjoying wearing latex and leather. Where you are accepted for being a naturalist, and perhaps a place to learn about being a naturalist.
In the end, a Litogather is its own entity, it is a place where you can feel free to be yourself. And that is truly, more valuable than the skin deep tone that those whom have not attended, place upon it. The memories gathered here, the friendships gained, last a lifetime.
I leave here glad that I came, and honored to have spent this, my last weekend off in America, with these wonderful people. SweetSubSarah and pleaz_me did a wonderful job with putting together this party. I truly doubt anyone could have done as wonderful a job as they did in planning and execution of this gathering. A special thank you for SweetSubSarah for having me here, and for putting together such a delightful event. [slight edit due to the fact that I didn't go to Japan]

To be serious a quick moment, a lot of us are driving, and there will be a lot of alcohol. I've already lost two friends to drunk drivers, I would hate to lose more. So please, be responsible. If you drink don't drive.

I look forwards to seeing you all!

Trying to decide if I like Pleaz's top half or bottom half better!!!!! ;)

I was about to make a comment regarding sides, but decided to wait and see what had already been said. As much as my attention is drawn to her bottom, I'd have to go with the top--it has her smile. *g*

I've told all my friends and family that it's an author's convention :D

Great idea!!! If I were actually an author, I could get away with it!! LOL

I've told people I'm going to a party to see friends I haven't seen in a while. :D

Same thing I've told all the folks I work with who ask what I'm doing during my vacation time. :D

Although I usually say it's a "Writer's Convention - or in otherwords an excuse to party and get drunk... " That usually makes them laugh and stop asking questions. ;)

Well my Virgo side came out. I've now officially started making my list for everything I need to pack/bring with me.
