This is ScouriesWorld! There are over 97,000 views on this thread. I'm just wondering what sort of celebration scouries has planned when the 100,000 mark is reached.

ScouriesWorld is where people come to get the straight skinny on a multitude of subjects. Oh, not from you, Ace, of course. From individuals like scouries and BFW.

You must try to remember that ScouriesWorld is a fantasyland. Try to focus.

I wonder if you can purchase it in as many e formats at the Kindle Store as elsewhere? Just mildly interested, of course, since I don't order them anywhere.

All that said, I don't think Amazon.com is set up for browsing and finding erotica as well as the specialization distribution sites are (nor do I think the erotica shoppers go there like they do at the specialty sites).

Kindle sells Kindle books, period. No other formats. It's a modified Mobi format, basically. (Which is also owned by Amazon.)

The good thing about Amazon (and there isn't a lot...) - even though we only get 35%, any sales they have, THEY absorb. So we get 35% on the full price of the book, no matter what the customer paid.

It's a good argument. Even Amazon's new link to iphone isn't going to up their sales too much in our genre, I don't think. There are too many free apps out there (like Stanza) that feed into other distributors for Amazon to make a dent in the erotica market yet. All Romance Ebooks offers their books on iPhone. Smashwords now has a direct feed to Stanza, too. FW is behind the times, but now that B&N has acquired them, perhaps they'll move into the new millennium...

i saw tiger but i'm going to the beach today...

I saw Tiger Woods live and up close yesterday. Playing the Blue Monster. I snuck away from the afternoon session of the ScouriesWorld Writing Seminar just to watch him. Left one of the kitten sisters in charge of the students.

BTW Les showed up at the seminar but his buddy d.b. was a no show. And I must say that although Mr. Lumens is a friendly enough guy he’s definitely not that bright.

Anyway, getting back to Tiger, I must say he didn’t look like he’s all the way back. The last time I saw him play (some 5 or 6 years ago) he really swung the “big stick” (his driver to you non-golfers). Yesterday he looked cautious. Mind you he still shot under par. And he still looks like he’s a mile above the rest of them.

I’m going to invite him to play in the 1st Annual ScouriesWorld Golf Tournament coming up in late May. We’re hoping to raise some money for needy LITEROTICANS.

I’m also going to putt Tiger in one of my future stories … then we’ll really see how he handles his “big stick”…

Oh Selena doesn't consult with me on publishing--if she had, eXcessica wouldn't be worrying much about Amazon.com at all yet. And eXcessica would be sloughing off some authors who aren't selling and who aren't contributing to what is supposed to be a coop.

And I'm not sure what you are talking about concerning "not getting it." It's been pretty clear here who doesn't get it. It's true I'm not aware that Amazon.com ever did anything with e-books before their one-format for an expensive, new reader was started--and apparently all you are relying on is your memory yourself--such as it is. All of which is--and continues to be for the present--pretty irrelevant to the erotica market.

I see that you finally "got it" about your illegal Avatar. There's always a glimmer of hope you'll understand something--eventually.
