Chicago Litogether 2009

Not sure who all is flying out this year... but I will be happy to provide the details for what to do (and not do) to speed your way through security for your flight. :D

PM me with questions.

Sorry I haven't been on Lit that much... My time has totally been consumed with work..... I have a much needed day off today though....

You'd best get some R&R now ... you're going to need it in a week. ;)

I know that feeling ALL too well.
Since October I seem to have worked 6 out of every 7 days of the week probably 3 weeks out of each month. And in situations like now... I'm working 14 days straight.

After reading Doc's post here, I went back to the beginning of the thread. I'd missed the part where people mentioned that they planned to bring firearms to the Litogether.

I'm sorry, folks, but I will not attend a drunken party knowing that several of the revelers have firearms only a few feet away in their rooms.

It's my good fortune, though, to live nearby. I'll be happy to meet Litsters offsite for some coffee, breakfast, or a drink but I will not be setting foot into the hotel under these conditions.

Enjoy yourselves, folks. Let me know when you plan a gun-free Litogether and I'll plan to attend.

Huh? I'm totally against handguns and I also wouldn't be in a room where I know that there's one present... I don't know the posts you are referring to but I can't imagine anyone would bring a gun into a room with other people in it... if you NEED to bring a gun for whatever reason.. please keep it to your room or vehicle....

I totally trust those that I've already met to adhere to this...

Take a look at the Lit-together 2009 Range Trip thread... As I said... I will be leaving mine at home. And I am trying to make arrangements to keep any firearms out of the hotel... I don't want anyone feeling that they should not attend - for any reason.

You KNOW I want to see you again. :) I'm very much looking forward to getting to have another great conversation with you.

Yes, J.R. You can at least trust Gizz, Jag and myself to keep them to ourselves, and you can trust that Gizz and I are trying to make arrangements to have all those who want to bring a firearm keep them someplace BESIDES the hotel. I wholly understand people's concerns about this and I freely admit that it was something that I DID NOT think about. For that, I wholeheartedly apologize to everyone.

**The emphasis regarding the above is because whether or not these concerns are politically based (ie: brought up because of a political aversion to firearms or brought up for other reasons or both) is completely irrelevant. They are legitimate concerns, they are something we should have thought about at the outset, and they need to be addressed.

I also do not want anyone feeling they should not or cannot attend because they won't feel safe.

What flirting? Everyone's at work. Or asleep. Or at the store like I'm supposed to be. :D

*idly toying with an out-of-place strand of hair*
Well...I don't know, I think some flirting could be happen even without the usual audiences. hehehe ;) :rose:

*reaches over and runs fingers through your hair*

I'm supposed to be cooking and making minty peckers ... and rum truffles. I may make it in there eventually.

:D I'm sitting here wishing that those spoons and forks we found in the city weren't so damned expensive, 'cause we'd by a hell of a lot more of them for the party. :D

I did finally manage to make it to the store though.

Cant you flirt at the store? :D

With all those...ahem...people? (and I use that term loosely) Are you nuts?! Don't get me wrong, I love to flirt in person, but I have to WANT to flirt first... ;)

Just curious- who is planning to go into Chicago sometime during our weekend? If you are, when? Where are you headed?
I'd like to do some sightseeing (I think tho I'm sure y'all will be providing plenty of sights worth seeing!), but I'm not sure what to do.

I would be will to escort you.

I'm aiming for the Field Museum Friday morning. Anyone else interested?
