I haven't been leaving comments as much as I'd like to. There's so much good poetry being submitted it's taking all my time to read it. So please take this as a blanket "high five" all you submitters, be you survivor or outlier. I'm slowly retracing my steps and catching up on comments.

Which reminds me - do you ever go back to check for more recent comments left by readers who've just found you?

now and again then wonder should I say oops just found your comment and thankyou

I check about every three months, just to see who hates me now.

I have left lots of comments, but I don't see it as a tit-for-tat thing, since I don't really care if I get comments or not. I mean, they're nice, but I like to get feedback earlier in the process, like in the challenges in threads. Once I put something up, I'm pretty much done with it, so comments end up being sorta moot.

I approach it like this: if I'm really inspired, if something is really moving or excellent, I leave a comment to that effect. Not so they'll look at my stuff or reciprocate with their own feedback, but just because I had a strong response to a piece. I don't comment on work just so others will return the attention.

I was really diligent about it for a while, but not so much these days. I haven't read any of the reviews for months. Just can't keep up, really.
