Pft, if people start complaining about long posts again, I'm going to start writing like this is a Harry Potter group thread:

Mallory entered the lounge area and saw the rest of his team was already waiting inside. He walked over to the fridge and took out a soda before heading for the table to pull up a seat. Opening up the can, he took a long drink out of it before setting it on the table, smiling at those around him, "So what's going on everyone?"

Only with more spelling errors.

on a board where you actually have the time to put some forethought into what your character says and does...

well to be as clear as I can... it makes the character feel 2d as there is nothing you can claim to his personality there other than the fact that he apparently prefers ice cold canned soft drinks.

If anybody constantly responded to my posts with something that small and unhelpful in moving the plot along or developing characters, I'd take a page out of Unseen's book and stab them. Or at least drop the thread due to a lack of interest or drive for doing my part in carrying the story.

I don't disagree with you, but I think there are just as many issues with making 8 paragraph posts to cover a minute of time, and it doesn't really have anything to do with my dislike of reading.

I simply think it seems equally unrealistic for characters to think and develop themselves to the reader at the rates that some do here. We as readers probably know more about a lot of these characters than most people find out about characters in the entire span of many novels.

Unrealistic? lol I think a lot myself... So and my mind wonders as much as some of my characters do! lol Though I will admit, some things are simply meant as insight, not just for myself, no...but to pretty much not let it be unknown. I would not write about it if it did not play an important key or factor...

Anyway, I am tired... My brain is crashing on me.
