Her heart pounding, her mind racing, she walked inside, searching for the cold blue steel that would bring the madness to an end.
 
She found it where she'd always kept it, in the night table beside her bed. Brushing her fingers along the length, a devious smile formed on her lips. Who gets the first shot? she wondered.
 
The silence was broken as she cocked the pistol, then padded down the long hall following the unmistakeable sounds of lovemaking.
 
She stopped at the end of the hallway and listened to the sounds; the panting, the moaning, and thought, "They're here, just like I knew they would be. This is nothing more, and nothing less, than what they both deserve."
 
Throwing the door open so it banged against the wall, she strode into the bedroom flipping on the light switch.

She placed the muzzle under her chin and, gathering all her courage, pulled the trigger.
