Jesus is our lord and savior

The Bible is the written revelation of the Creator God for mankind. IT CONTAINS THE ABSOLUTELY VITAL KNOWLEDGE THAT EVERYONE NEEDS DESPERATELY TO UNDERSTAND — but which would be inaccessible by any NATURAL means.

In the Bible, God speaks with authority to us through its writers. THE BIBLE, THEN, POSSESSES SUPREME AUTHORITY OVER OUR LIVES SINCE IT COMES FROM OUR OWN SUPREME CREATOR. The Bible repeats hundreds of times: "Thus saith the Lord." In Scripture, God speaks in the first person — "I" — and challenges us to test Him to PROVE whether He speaks the truth. (Isaiah 44:6-9.)

Without the Bible we can NEVER UNDERSTAND THE LESSONS OF THE PAST, THE MEANING OF THE PRESENT, AND THE GOAL OF THE FUTURE.
So... it's vital that we know that the hare is a carnivore... even though it isn't? And it's vital that we know who begat whom? And it's vital that we know how Jesus and John the Baptist are related?

If you want revelation through supernatural means, how about runic reading, or tarot reading, or some other form of connection with the spiritual, that doesn't claim to be directly from god?

Even in quoting "Thus saith the Lord", you have proven your point wrong- God did not WRITE THE BIBLE... he instructed those who wrote it... and then the HUMAN ELEMENT interpreted it, and put it into physical form.

Religion, and your argument, are man-made, and therefore, doomed to failure.

If you're going to use popularity as evidence, what does it say about you when the overwhelming majority thinks you're an idiot?

Scripture, when rightly understood, GIVES A RATIONAL MEANING for man's existence and the causes of our world's ills. It explains exactly why this world experiences wars, sicknesses and suffering.

There are hundreds of religious, political and economic "cures" in the world, but none of them reaches the cause of earth's problems. Only GOD'S MIND IS great enough to know the TRUE answers. No book BUT HIS BIBLE can explain the laws that eternally regulate human life and human affairs — LAWS which, when violated, bring the penalties of sickness, war and death.

Only the Bible is able to point the way out of impending chaos!

Yet men reject its solutions as out of date in this space age. Its truth they do not want to know. That's WHY "THE LORD HATH A CONTROVERSY WITH THE NATIONS" (Jeremiah 25:31). EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING OF HUMAN LIFE, GOD HAS HAD A CONTROVERSY WITH HUMANITY. HUMAN BEINGS BY NATURE REFUSE TO FOLLOW HIS WAY OF LIFE. Humans think their ways are better. Man assumes that he knows more than God.

Yes, "there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of DEATH" (Proverbs 14:12). Humanity avoids acknowledging God as Supreme Ruler. People hide their eyes from plain evidence, and label Scripture falsely as myth and tradition.

People today fail to recognize there is any power other than their own that can bring about a literal utopia on earth.

What great power can, and will, do this?

GOD ALMIGHTY! He has the power and the wisdom to make utopia reality!

This is the very message God sent Jesus Christ to proclaim to the world. It is the "Gospel"—the GOOD NEWS—that Christ will return with the power of God to give us universal peace and prosperity at last!

Few today understand that God has allotted mankind six thousand years in which to rule himself. During this time, He has kept hands off the affairs of men. He has allowed man to pursue the course that seems right to him (Proverbs 16:25). God has given man the opportunity to prove, by experience, the basic inadequacies of any form of human government—be it communism, fascism, socialism, or even democracy.

God is allowing the human race to prove to itself that NO human form of government can bring us world peace!

"Faith" itself, asks that we suspend rational thought and understanding, to accept that which has no understandable foundation. How then, through suspending rationality, can the bible appeal to our rational side, and give rational meaning to the chaos? Our very faith, which governs our understanding of the bible, would make understanding any rational message in the text, kind of difficult.

I don't believe ANY book, including the bible, can "explain the laws that eternally regulate human life and human affairs". Books are of human origin. We make them. We fill them. We use them to our means. The bible, while it does contain some wisdom, also contains falsehood, fear-mongering, propaganda, bias, inaccuracy, and fairy tales. I see no more wisdom in it, than I do in a spread of my Runes. And I have read the whole thing... more than once.

Most of the reasons that humans avoid calling god 'supreme ruler' or whatever it is you want us to call him... is because the agents of god on earth are such incredible fuckups. Priests harming children. War-mongerers. A universal church that has more wealth in one small mini-state, than entire continents have to boast of. Judgementalism. A history, and a present, of the agents of god tainting the image of god to those that they are meant to witness to.

It is not the bible that turns people off of god- though it doesn't necessarily turn them ON to god... it is, once again, the human factor... people. It is the male-centric view in the bible. It is the male-centric view in many religous organizations. It is the abuse, the damage, the harm caused by gods witnesses here on earth.

Like you.

How much good do you think you're doing by ranting and raving, and using capslock all over the place? How much good do you think you're doing by judging us, and yet using the avatar that you're using? To be a witness, you must be an example.

Lemme quote you the most powerful thing I've ever heard:

"They will know we are Christians by our love".

Not by what is said, nor by the ideals spouted in some book... but by your actions and kindness.

If you want so much to convert people, then be a fucking witness.

Why do we find such confusion—such disagreement as to what the Bible says? Why don't the hundreds of differing church denominations and sects agree on what their acknowledged textbook says?

Why do so many individuals, capable of understanding almost any other book, say: "I just can't understand the Bible"?

Take a recognized textbook on biology. Show this book to ten different biology professors from ten different colleges and universities. Ask them what it says. They'll all give you basically the same answer. People seldom disagree as to what recognized textbooks say—except when it comes to the one book of all books—the Holy Bible!

But take the Bible to ten different professors of theology, or ministers of religion, and you'll probably receive ten different answers to just about any question you might ask about it.

Do you know WHY?

Here certainly is the enigma of the ages. The most important, yet the least understood book of all books is the world's BEST SELLER—the book owned by more people than any other. It is the one book that has lived in spite of every effort to stamp it out down through the ages.

The Bible is the only book which has foretold, centuries in advance, the chaotic conditions of our world—the only book that explains the meaning of confused world conditions—that opens before us to understand in advance the wonderful, peaceful, happy world tomorrow. It is the one book that predicted, in advance, the rise and fall of specific nations and governments—that reveals the DESTINY of the world. No mere humanly inspired book could have revealed these amazing events. Such prophecies must have been divinely inspired.

Here is the book that, in spite of human misunderstanding, has changed more lives than all other books combined. And yet—it is the book that almost NOBODY knows!

littlejade im sorry but the bible has the answers to all your questons and fears you cannot reject it no way

Former President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower had a glimpse of the future. He said in his inaugural address: "In the swift rush of great events, we find ourselves groping to know the full sense and meaning of the times in which we live. . . How far have we come in man's long pilgrimage from darkness toward light? Are we nearing the light—a day of freedom and peace for all mankind? Or are the shadows of another night closing in upon us? . . . Science seems ready to confer upon us, as its final gift, the power to erase human life from this planet."

Mr. Eisenhower recognized the fact that man may soon destroy himself. President John F. Kennedy saw the same reality. President Johnson also came face to face with this awesome threat. Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter had to grapple with the same specter. And now, President Reagan faces the same dilemma.

But how may world disaster be averted? What is the solution to the arms race—to a nuclear "Armageddon"?

At the close of World War II, just following the surrender of the Japanese on board the battleship Missouri in Tokyo Bay, General Douglas MacArthur put his finger on the only possible solution. He said these fateful words: "Men since the beginning of time have sought peace. Various methods through the ages have been attempted to devise an international process to prevent or settle disputes between nations. . . Military alliances, balances of power, leagues of nations, all in turn failed, leaving the only path to be by way of the crucible of war. The utter destructiveness of war now blots out this alternative. We have had our last chance. If we will not devise some greater and more equitable system, Armageddon will be at the door. The problem basically is theological and involves a spiritual recrudescence and improvement of human character that will synchronize with our almost matchless advances in science, art, literature, and all material and cultural developments of the past 2,000 years. It must be of the spirit if we are to save the flesh"
