Ask me anything

One of my top five favorite writers. His current job title is "Explorer In Residence" at National Geographic. How fucking cool is that?

Nice title. I want a job title a tenth as good as that one.

I'll have to see about getting something of his later this week.

He also teaches (taught?) at a college in Canada. I really want to take a class with him someday.

I'd recommend starting with The Serpent And The Rainbow. It's...tighter. More self-contained. Move on to Light At The Edge Of The World, and then dive into the tome known as One River, which is my favorite, but is longer and more all-encompassing, as he details some of the research of his mentor as well. I've not read his other stuff. Yet.

I'll do that.

You sure are throwing around this yet word a lot lately.

I like to plan for the future.

What do you think is your biggest flaw, and why have you not changed it?

My biggest flaw is not accepting help. I have a hard time making room for other people to do things. It's partly because I don't think anyone can do it as well as I can. I can't seem to change that.

Ah, interesting. Do you supervise other people at work?

If another litster said he had lots of pictures of you and would send them to me if you said it was okay, would you say that was okay?

About 130 children. But otherwise I don't supervise anyone. But I do end up taking on a lot more than I can handle. I have a hard time saying no.

I must have confused your career with someone else's. I thought you were in IT for some reason.

Do you have trouble delegating?

Teacher? What grade? Since you have 130, I'm assuming middle or high school...

Actually I teach elementary school. I teach specials so I teach spanish, art and computer. I have kids from ages 3 to 5th grade. I have each class at least 4 times a week (the little kids don't have computer) and the rest I have 3 times a week.

I teach computer. That's probably what you are thinking about. Yes, I have trouble delegating.

That explains it. Thank God I got something right. I was getting paranoid.

When you were young, were you frustrated by watching your friends do stuff badly?
