Same with the abrasion scratches from the metal brush he uses on me. If it marks then I want the marks to stay right where they are.

If I bruise my gal solidly, I won't touch that spot until that bruise fades. Bruises are essentially blood clots. Disloding a little blood clot into the blood stream is bad. Beating on a bruised area can cause that. No thanks. After all, I can make more bruises.

It is indeed!

Only important thing: Never ever use it on open wounds!!! Only if the skin is not broken!

And - some people are allergic to arnica, so test it on the thin skin of the bend of your elbow before using it in bigger quantities.

Arnica as a homeopathic remedy works also very good on bruises and other traumatic damages from the inside and can't cause allergy!

speaking of pics...why am I having trouble finding ones of bruises? like pretty ones? I mean there have to some out and about but any bruise pics I've seen look more like someone took a two-by-four to the victim and tried to kill her. Or are bruises not for public consumption? Too personal? How do I post a pic if I don't have an anonymous online site for linking them? Maybe by the time I get to 100 posts I'll figure out how to do all the cool things lit allows in posts. Grrr...insert pic...no, I don't have a bloody hyperlink...grr. There must be a way. Cut and past isn't working :(

I agree that beating a bruise is not a good idea, but I do like to see the bruises and have them fade in their own good time.

it also comes in pill form and can be taken to prevent or lessen bruising

I agree with you. I almost get sad.. no.. not almost.. I get sad when I see the bruise change from purple to yellow..

A bruise would have to be pretty deep to turn into an embolism as a bruise is blood clotted in subcutaneous tissue which has only capillaries for circulation and would require the blood clot to be pushed through the subcutaneous layer back into the veins in order for them to be mobilized. I suppose it falls under the, "why risk it" category though
