OK seeing we are now looking at a fair bit of interest in the 2008 Sydney G&G it's time to try to set a few plans in place.

We are looking to hold the Saturday night meet at the Ramsgate RSL which we have used for the last few years.

Accommodation is available close to this venue & has been used by many who have attended past G&Gs in Sydney.

As for SEXPO we are planning on a Thursday (free ticket day) meet up for anyone who can make this. Others may like the Friday, day time Saturday or Sunday visit. Keep an eye on the site for your chance to claim free tickets to the thursday SEXPO.

Looking forward to seeing friends both old & new.

The LIT Aussie thread Sydney meets has always been a no trouble, hassle free time where we can talk about anything in a fun social atmosphere enjoying the company of others we have seen on LIT.

I hope you are doing good Gil.....;)

Will be the best part of a month till we find out how things are going & if it's stong enough to use & then I can get these damn tubes out of my chest. Hope the good weather last so I can get in a few trips to the beach.

All fingers crossed. ATM

good morning :)

well, haven't i had an interesting few days!
the 2nd wheel bearing went on the car - and once again a superextraordinary friend i know helped me out to get it back up and running.
i was a bit worried that i wouldn't have a car to go pick up my kids for the easter weekend because if that happened, the ex would have thrown a fit.
but, all fixed so i'm back on schedule there :D

night before last, my hot water system exploded.
i'd been hunting for it so i could turn the thermostat up (it had been set to about 45 deg because the lady who lived here was blind - that way if she turned on the wrong tap, she wouldn't burn herself)
couldn't find the unit anywhere.
anyway, when it exploded, i found it................ in the ceiling!!!
water came pouring through the ceiling and down the walls at about 11pm on tuesday night
turned the mains water and power off...... and had 1 candle in the entire place, so sat around in the dark for the most part.
thankfully, it was only a valve that failed, and it's been repaired now. (had a plumber and electrician in asap yesterday morning - all i could think of was that my kids are coming for 5 days and i had no water or power!!!)
the carpets are almost dry as i've had the central heating on for 24 hrs now, and the insulation in the roof will take a few days.

someday, it would be really nice to wake up and know i'm going to have a completely peaceful day - no drama's, no issues, and nothing breaking down!
think it'll ever happen?

Now how would you cope with drama free day? you'd be totally lost. Hope that the time with the kids & mum will be filled with happiness.

Holy shit, where did this thread come from? ;)

Another Aussie! Welcome!
:D

Evening all! I hope everyone is well and happy.
Karma works both ways, and it seems that I have been good lately. Everything that I had planned this week went smoothly - my fence is up, my meeting went well AND I got a decent pay rise. I think I deserve another pair of new shoes!

On a more serious note, if anyone is going away/driving around this Easter long weekend - please be careful.

heh :D
thankyou.... i'm really looking forward to picking the kidley beans up this morning!
i have them for 5 whole days!!!

happy easter to everyone (in case i'm too wrapped up in children to get back on in the next few days!)

Gil needs an accurate scale to weigh in for dialysis, so we got a digital one that measures to the nearest 100g. It cost about $50 from Big W.

Did you try replacing the battery/ies? that could be why it's gone ballistic

Hiya Bandit,

I guess its just my bad luck in choice of bathroom scales. Yep I tried replacing the batteries and it made no difference. It was working fine until one day it went nuts. It must be the sensor in the pads. Actually I did purchase it from Big W.

The other scales I purchased I found out were just so wrong. I'm still using them just making the adjustment. I reckon I'm just going to get a piece of string and put that around my waist and mark it for any changes. Less chance of things going wrong. I may even market it as the non-electronic weight loss measuring device that comes in may colours :D People nowadays will buy just about anything, afterall we buy tap water in a plastic bottle.

Evening all,

Hope the Easter break will do you all good.

Happy Birthday WQ. Sounds like a small disaster period came your way. I had my roof blow off two years ago at Easter. My place was the only one hit in the neighbourhood. I was under tarps for 2 weeks and bailing water out of my kitchen for a day and night. Bunnings became my saviour. I now have enough buckets to bail out a ship. We had a huge storm hit Melbourne late last year (90mm in two days) and the new skylight couldn't handle the water so it leaked. Thankfully I had all those buckets. Isn't having a home so rewarding! But I did learn a few things about insurance and how stupid the whole process is.

Happy Birthday WQ!

Howdy all. I hope you're all well. I'm a happy little vegemite today...painting my new picket fence! Now all I need (to complete the stereo type) is a husband and 2.4 kids.

Goooooooooooooooooooood
Moooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiingggggggggggggggg........OZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........
chilly 32 degrees here today and are best wishes go out to our Aussie friends, WQ in particular........Happy Birthday!. The latest from Saigon........................oops damn hate those flashbacks.......

Happy Birthday WQ! Have a marvelous one! :D

It is the first full day of Spring where I am and we are under a winter storm WARNING! They are saying up to 14 inches of snow. Guess we are going to have a white Easter....

thanx all for the b-day wishes!
had a marvelous day - the kidley beans played cricket in the backyard, my mum redid the entire greenhouse, the weather turned out to be perfect, and a few friends came to help celebrate (and lend me a bbq, so we could have a cook-up).
finished off the day by cuddling up together and watching the 'top gear challenges' dvd.... funny stuff :D

i've got absolutely no plans for the next few days with my chillens - isn't it wonderful?!!!
