It's important to get several servings every day.

Few people really get Morrissey. I find him hilarious. It's kinda like those shar-pei dogs, the ones with all the wrinkles. They're just damn funny.

I think the key line is "I like you cause I'm not right in the head."

bj

I liked that line too. I still don't get him. I did the sort of ego that wants its' name in 20' high glowing red letters behind itself though.

That started spreading round about the same time the tits went south

EVERYBODY wants to migrate south, my dear -- get ready for it!

Bijou, love the palare about li'l Steven Patrick, he's MY interesting drug too.

Now, garçon, can I have some gravy to dip my BITS in please?

Save one for me. I spent last night in the hospital. My cold/flu thing turned out to be pneumonia. I shall be out of commission for a few days. Hold down the poetry fort. I must sleep and sleep and sleep.

PS IV Dilaudid and ativan totally rocks! The ten minutes before you pass out are great fun. Unless you're eagleyez I suppose and you just get to watch me float into oblivion. :D

You poor thing. Pneumonia makes you tired and tired and tired and you'll need all the seem you can manage.

O pauvre petite! Sweetie that sucks! You are under the strictest of orders to do absolutely nothing for days and days. Although that's a lovely little cocktail they gave you - should rather assure that you do nothing for quite a while.

Your bathtub full of gravy - or rose petals or smelt or champagne (hm, beverage or poet?) or whatever your heart desires - will be ready for you whenever you return.

Hi Doll! *big smile!* Long time no see! I'm glad you're around! I was just wondering about you a week or so ago.

Ok.

Well this gives me an immensely effective rationalization to push for a Reverdie Challenge, either here in the bistro or in its own thread. How bout we write some good old hooray for spring poetry for Angeline to keep her spirits up, which always assists in recovery.

Can I get anyone else in on this if I were to start an actual thread about it?

Meanwhile, it's still motherfucking winter here and I've about had it. Hell, everyone in the Midwest has about had it. Course, we always get this way around the end of February.

Bistro Soup Day!

I've been looking at recipes. Finding some mouth-watering stuff: Broccoli Stilton cream soup, a nice homey tomato with fresh basil, shrimp bisque, corn-shellfish chowder, or (drool drool) jerusalem artichoke with saffron cream...

Everybody warm your innards and stay healthy, for gods' sake. I'll fill a tub for you if you want.

I could probably use some soup. Ugh.

I've got a slow cooker full of beef veggie soup.

One blade simmering steak, deboned, trimmed and cut into half inch square pieces, browned on all sides, put in the cooker crock. In the same pan sautee 1 thinly sliced medium leek, 1 generously medium cooking onion, 2 cloves garlic and 2 stalks of celery and add the lightly browned veggies to the crock. Add 1 quart of beef stock, 4 medium potatoes chopped into half inch squares, 2 cups halved baby carrots and 1 10oz can diced tomatoes. Top off with enough water to lightly cover the contents and slow cook forever...

Serve with fresh biscuits or crusty bread.

Spring is too far away for me to poem lyrically about it. However, ...

When you lock on your boards
and swing up the side of a mountain
chairlift rattle shaking the fresh
dusting of powder off the cable
you're getting ready for a ride.

Breathe deeply then skate
across a short run to fly
up to the summit. Sky
ice blue and ice sky blue
but snow sets the tone.

Go, large s-turns spinning
icy contrails off the back
of skis laying parallel lines
braided down the hill.

Just you and the schuss
glissade of edges sharp
boards waxed and poles
planted just so, pivot.
February ego snow.

soup for you, and one of my popular curative 'Aw Bubbie' s. There is such power in an "Aw Bubbie" that people sometimes call me and demand one.

In fact, one for you and one for Angeline.

*with great sympathy and the tone of a concerned Jewish mother:*
Aw, Bubbie!

And Champie: Yum and YUM! thank you.

Yeah it feels pretty unevocative here too where writing reverdies is concerned. I was thinking maybe it could be a sort of hint for the season to get off its ass and start warming up.

we'll wait a few days till its more conducive. Meanwhile, CURATIVE POETRY FOR ANGELINE AND HOMBURG.

I'm hunting around the files. I'll see what I can find.

bj

Waves weakly.

Love you all. Going back to bed. There's a nice warm spot next to furnace boy. :)

If you can manage to cure myself and Angeline with verse, oh, my, the sexual favours I will have for you.

Well I'll certainly see what I can do. It's more than worth a try.

Meanwhile. It's Cranky Day at the Bistro. Morning started too early and it featured Chipper Morning People, which is not a good thing for bijou. So.

Lots of caffeine and comfort food, and a judicious application of sedatives while I hunt around for suitably curative poetry for Angeline and Homburg.

hearts and shit,

My head is all plugged up with a cold...

and the synapses are too clogged to allow creative ideas to form.

Can I get a cup of Orange Spice tea? And maybe a side of jalapeño poppers?
