I actually think Rush wouldn't mind Hillary in the White House for a number of reasons:

1. The next President will have a helluva mess to clean up thanks to W and co., and probably won't succeed on all fronts -- thus being open to constant criticism.

2. Limbaugh thrived during the Clinton years. His show feeds on negativity and attacking. It's much easier to be an armchair quarterback and criticize than it has been to defend and prop up an inept administration on a daily basis for the last eight years. Rush is much better on the attack than on the defense.

3. People love to bitch and complain, and another Clinton White House will create a collective bitchfest for the dittoheads.

4. Another Clinton White House will deflect attention away from the fact that a Republican President, a Republican Congress and a Conservative Supreme Court did not abolish Roe v. Wade, and are responsible for the current mess.

Rush's point is spot on.

McCain is disdainful of the economy, willing to adopt the populist lingo of soaking the rich, so his sole selling point is, I will continue the unpopular war and if you don't elect me Hillary will end it.

In his speech today he kept saying, I'm a conservative, I'm a conservative, I'm a conservative, I'm a Reagan foot-soldier and if you don't trally around me and elect me, then you'll be stuck with a Clinton! If you have to tell people you are something, you aren't.

His biggest selling point is, "I have nothing to offer, but I'm not Hillary, and that's fear itself."

And like I pointed out earlier, he's parroting the first Bush to go down in flames, "No new earmarks."

Can you say Richard Nixon? Well Cap'n Queeg is setting himself up for a repeat of that role; retreat with honor...
