Ropework photos

I got another question, how do you tie up someone so well if its only your first time meeting? In my experience the hardest part is calculating how much slack to leave in certain areas for when you come back to them. It took me a while to get it with just one person, I don’t know how you do it right off the bat.

Thank you, DB. I'm really, wildly happy with the colour of the flax paired with the crimson jute. It looks lovely. I'm thinking th enext comour I should get is black, but it'll probably be a while.

What do you think, DB?
Black and red would be awesome. I could totally see a black and red rope corset on a cute rope bunny. It would be gorgeous.

It's practice, YC. You just work with body after body after body, and try to work with different body types too. Narrow, broad, large breasts, small breast, women, men, etc. Sure, I could sit there and work on "v" until I'm too old to tie a knot, but I won't learn like I will tying different bodies.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I'll have to think about it...

i got to do some fun typing of my own tonight (SEE AV!!!)

Nice wrapping there, darlin! Seriously, that's some clean work, from what I can see. And if there weren't those damned hateful black leggings in the photo, I'd really approve :D

Good on ya though, mis!

Practice, unfortunately I don’t have a canvas. But always searching.

For me tying someone has an intensity that I reserve for one special person only. So until love decides to come my way again theirs not much I can do.

Except watch your work :D

Well, the intensity is reserved for special situations, but practice is practice. I'm glad you're enjoying the thread =)

Don't you ever run out of room to hide the bodies?

Nah, when you post pictures on the internet, hiding them afterwards becomes a moot point.

Best I can offer. Quails are related, sort of. And this one apparently learned to complain from a member of the actual grouse family, as you can tell by my expression.

OMG I cannot believe you did that Mr Homburg, you are such a classic and thank you. You are domming da bird : laughsmiles: Completely precious in alpha he man glaring at a small plastic toy kind of way, such a good sport :rose:

Question for Hom:

I've steadily been losing weight. When I get skinny again, can I be a rope bunny for you?

Yep, now that you mention it, I remember that moment. Thanks!

Congrats on making body composition improvements! But, dead honest, you could be a rope bunny right now, Sprinkles.

*Switching gears a bit*

Time for a quick tutorial. I mentioned the Catspaw Lite cuff in a previous post, and I've used it here and there since. Like I said in that post, the Catspaw cuff is a cool one, but it has a few too many wraps for my taste, and too many steps. I was playing around with the concept and came up with a cuff that I like for lower security uses.

This one has not yet shown any propensity for tightening, but it's not a cuff that I've used to hold any sort of weight, so take it with a grain of salt. It is not by any means escape proof, and an eel will probably get out of it.

It works best when there is some tension on the lead. The bottom line here is that it is intended as a comfortable cuff which can be quickly applied and tied to a hard point, such as the bedpost or whatnot.

So here we go:

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff83/HomburgHat/rope/100_5534.jpg

First step is to find the middle of you rope and fold it in half. This produces a "bight", which is the turn you just produced. There is also the 'working end', which is the two loose bits.

----

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff83/HomburgHat/rope/100_5535.jpg

Wrap that loop round the column you want to secure, and tuck the working end through the bight. This produces a Larkshead.

You have just learned the primary knot used in this style of rope bondage. And limbs are referred to as columns. Legs, arms, torsos, whatever, they're all columns.

Note - don't snug this down tight. You will be passing lines under this bight. You should be able to slide two fingers under the wraps at any given point.

----

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff83/HomburgHat/rope/100_5536.jpg

Wrap the working ends back around the column in the opposite direction, making sure to lay the lines flat and outside the original lines.

Note - You want your wraps to lay flat as it will better support the limb, and prevent pressure points in the tie. It will also help to prevent pinch bruising if the cuff is used under tension.

----

You'll notice that the lines you just laid form two more bights. Tuck each working end into these bights, making sure to keep all of your lines flat and parallel.

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff83/HomburgHat/rope/100_5538.jpg

Take your working leads and tuck them under the existing lines, then again through the initial bight that you formed in the first place. This will cause your working ends to be side-by-side again.

----

http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff83/HomburgHat/rope/100_5539.jpg

Run the working ends to the outside of each side, and wrap them under and through the initial bight again. This is basically just wrapping these lines around the same part once more.

Pull taut and you are done. You'll notice that this is my own wrist here. This cuff can be tied one handed, and I've done so on myself many times while testing it and playing with it.

As I said before, I'm still testing this, so don't trust it to bear weight. Frankly, the wrist and ankles should never be trusted to bear weight any way. They're too easily damaged, but a cuff like this is great for keeping a limb in a given spot.

It works without knots because of how the wraps are set and how many times the various larksheads are cinched and secured.

And, obviously, you want to use more rope than this. This is a piece of acid green MFP from Rainbow Rope that they gave me when I bought all but this off the spool. Nice rope, eh? It's 6mm rope, and this length is probably 4ft long, so you'll need 4ft for the cuff. Whatever you have left can be used to tie the cuff to something stable. The rest is up to you.

This is exactly what I need. Something nice & easy that he can do in a few moments. :D THANK YOU! x 100 I so can't wait to try this out w/him. Too bad he'll be too tired on Friday (arrival date). ;)

Practice it yourself a little bit. If you have it down pat, you can show him fairly easily. And remember, this is not a weight-supporting cuff. Nor even a terribly secure one. It's just what you described - something that can be easily tied with relative quickness.

Sorry, was there rope in those last images Mr Homburg.

I only see hands : shame :

Back to torturing Shy, please excuse me .

Thanks a lot for that easy to follow guide Homburg! This is the result from me, after having followed it, first time was around my wrist, and the second try around my leg.

I personally think you should make more guides like those, and maybe make them into a folder, that we can download and print if we want to. If you would like help with that, let me know!

Yes, Sir. I planned on practicing it. I was thinking it'd be a fun way for him to tie me to the bed. All my weight would then be on it & it'd just be me struggling against the ropes. So I should be able to give you some feedback on if they tighten or not, and how well it worked for us overal. If you wish?

Looks perfect! And I regularly work on my own wrist and ankle when tying these. You've got the right idea.

I'll see about putting together some more of these as time goes on. When it happens, I will seek your help out on the downloadable folder. Thanks!

Sounds great, thanks! I've used the cuff here and there, but the folks I tied with it aren't strugglers. Please do let me know how it worked out for you, with my thanks in advance :)

Same for anyone else. If you use it, and it tightens or rolls or cap-sizes or whatever, please let me know!

I'll try to make a quick folder out of this guide, and show you the result. I have plenty of webspace to upload it to, so that's not a problem.
