Chicago Lit-together 2008

Okay - add to this list of questions asked and answered.

1. We've filled the initial 15 rooms of the agreement (even though we can ADD to it any time we wish). I will FAX that list tomorrow, Friday, January 18th, complete with names, bed requirements and specific dates. (I will PM everyone tonight just to double-check which nights they plan to stay).

If you haven't already given me your name and room choice, you can do that any time during the next few weeks and I'll call it in. But please understand that the longer you wait, the farther away from our group you may be situated in the hotel.

2. The rooms will be held for us, no matter what time you check in. If you will be very late please give the hotel a courtesy call but your room will be ready for you when you get there.

3. Yes, you can smoke on the balcony. BUT the door to the room must be shut, perhaps even locked - LOL. Smoking in the hotel room earns a $150 fine. Let's not have this happen. There is also a smoker's area in front of the hotel with ashtrays, he said to me (rather hopefully, I think) :)

4. All rooms are the same price. Either two double beds, one King, or one King with a sofa sleeper. Same price.

5. The Food has to be from Radisson. He just sent me a menu. It's typical hotel fare, outrageously expensive. But I envision us ordering some chips and dip, perhaps some sandwiches or such, soft drinks and water, and then sneaking some of our own stuff into the mix. Especially the liquor. :D

6. Here's the sweet kicker. Any night you wish to stay - Thurs, Fri, Sat, or Sun, (or any other, actually) will be honored at the group rate cost. $74.00. BUT it has to be included in your check-in information. Meaning, when I send in the names that specific information must be there. (Or when I call in the extra names later it must be included).

So make those plane reservations now, Litsters!

:D

Will now be flying in from a business meeting that week also. If anyone is coming from the TX area, let me know. Can also share my limo ;) Don't know if I'll be flying back in on Thurs or Friday early am yet but can be negotiated. ;)

Offtopic: I am flying to Houston this week, any lit-ters there?

Bumping in anticipation of future hugs, kisses, laughter and love.

Oh - and some secretive and not so secretive groping too.

Hey - sorry to interrupt the groping here - ahem.

I just wanted to share some of the menu items. Pricey bastids, but it's pretty much what I expected.

What do you think?

Tazo Herbal Teas features Starbucks brand $32.00/gallon

My thought is to get some soft drinks, some water pitchers, etc. Then stick to the chips and salsa type stuff, maybe a few of the other things. It'll add up fast price wise, and since this is happening right after supper we probably don't need tons of food. We can save our own food for the rooms later?

Thoughts?

I would stay with the snack selections. It's nice to snack while socializing, but definitely we'll all have our own snacks in our rooms, or at least in one room where most everyone socializes.

I'd say stick with the chips and salsa... maybe some popcorn.

We'll have plenty of nuts already................

;)

I'll toss in funds to cover the Chips/Guacamole.

Well we already have about 25 people attending. Minimum.

The room only costs $100.

To keep the room cost about $10 a person we can add a couple hundred dollars of food without a problem.

I still can't believe $17 a bowl for taco chips.

What if we snuck in a few bags to refill?

:D
