Boy I need a drink! I'm coming up for air after two days of intensive writing and researching. It's great fun but I need a little breaky. Very nice bar you have here, sis. And Homberg, you look so familiar to me but I can't place how I know your face. Your rope photos are really beautiful. It is an art.

Well, I wear glasses 99% of the time that I'm not in bed, so that might affect your remembrance. I took the specs off for this photo because I was trying to get an eyes only shot, and the lenses kept causing glare from the flash.
I've attached another photo. Me hat casts a long shadow, but, hey, it's a realistic picture of this very moment.

Well, if I had to be outside for more than about 15 minutes, I'd put on my fleece vest. And a hat is necessary to defend my shiny pate. Otherwise I'm perfectly happy. If I were riding my bike or something likewise physical, I'd probably not need even that. If I were trail-riding, I'd ditch the shirt entirely.
So, yeah, the weather is a wee bit less cold here. I am a bit cold resistant though. Some people still gripe about the weather. They're the weak ones though. =)
It's about 45-48F right now. Just for comparison.
And, yeah, poetry slam and shibari demo would rock. I know a coupla people in the art community (only a few mind you), and could easily swing a DJ or three. And I know a few rope bunnies here and there, as well as a few kinky people. One or two =)

(Hmmm, I wonder if EE would wear one of those scally things? He usually wears the baseball cap we got at Princeton U last summer. It comes with a 20-point IQ raise, I told him. Not that he needs to be any smarter...or more of a smartass, come to think of it.)

You are soooo cool. I just lurve the way your fevered little imagination works. I don't care, you can be in the circle or the oval or a trapazoid or howz about a karass? We're all in a big old karass here anyway, you know, and poetry is the wampeter. Have I mentioned I'm a Bokononist? It's such a cool religion. The sacred texts are all written in calypsos, and it has wonderfully cynical aphorisms like:

Nope, born in PA and raised, well, everywhere. Dad was in the military, so we moved all over the place. Never Jersey though. Probably a good thing. A month back I drove through Jersey and the sky became dark as sack cloth at three in the afternoon. 3pm!
Jersey is scary.
And, Bijou? A concept just bubbled up the in the Ropeworlk Photos thread that's right up your alley. Someone suggested that I open a B&B with a B&D theme, and I suggested "Tied To The Bed & Breakfast" as a name. I'm liking it. We could certainly open a lounge attached to it, eh?

I owe everything Bokonon I know to the utterly delightful Kurt Vonnegut. And anyone who hasn't read Cat's Cradle, well you simply must. It's a great novel. "Great" as in great literature. Also, it will make you laugh out loud it's so funny.
I keep telling everyone I subscribe to the Groucho Marx philosophy on clubs, but they (some) don't believe me. I often think the real reason I never went for my PhD is because I remember a smarmy professor telling me it was akin to membership in an elite club. The very thought of it, as described by him, skanked me out. That's how we say "ugh" in Joisey.
What do I want to drink? Hmmm. You know I'm actually pretty much temperance. A tall fresh lemonade sounds pretty good. But I wouldn't say no to an Alice B Toklas brownie if you have any fresh made. Yummy.

Ah yes, I would looooove some more Irish or British regional Guinness. You would not believe how different it tastes compared to what is sold here. Curses on Guinness for doing regional recipes!! And Sheridan's goes without saying. Pretty much going into sexual favour territory there too.

Having not looked a the pics yet I am a bit baffled as to why anyone should be tied up if not for nefarious purposes. I do realise some peoples idea of art takes many different forms and I am hoping further reading will answer this ........ for myself I think if I was just tied up to look artistic I would get bored stiff. Knowing me I have probably got the wrong end of the stick entirely !! As I said further readings may uncover all!

A lot of people find shibari very meditative, among other things. This is ideally true for both the binder and the subject. Esthetically, also, it's a fascinating look.
It's a peculiar taste, of course, and not for everyone.
Happy Sunday, everyone! I had a lovely day yesterday - only three major plumbing freeze problems, and only one that actually had to be dug up to be fixed... in 5 degree weather with a good stiff wind from the northeast...
Today's specials:
a stick-to-your-ribs lasagna. It's so Italian you can hear it cajoling you: "Eat, Papa, eat; you look thin..."
an amazingly prosaic chicken and dumplings. Served by a waitress with really tall hair and an Arkansas accent.
wilted spinach salad with tangerines, candied walnuts, gorgonzola and a raspberry vinaigrette
fresh chocolate chip cookies
and the poetry of Mervyn Peake.
Thanks to Tristesse, I've got a fine comedian on tap for tonight.
A new art gallery has opened up next door to us. I was thinking of purchasing this for the bistro. Here's the rest of the collection. I think we're going to get along just fine with our new neighbors.
Sunny and cold. Come on in for some hot food. And something to warm you up.
