It don't matter much.

After yesterday's comments about how you're a cfhickenhawk if you're not putting your ass on the line in Germany, I really have zero respect for that particular poster and now today, you have to be an academic, which leads me to wonder what this officer's degree is in...

I'm in Germany with orders to deploy to Iraq this fall. And I'm not an officer yet, thank you. I work for a living. I'm an e-4, because I felt that I should, you know, learn to TAKE orders before I give them. And I'm studying Creative Writing, with a History minor.

When are you going to acknowledge that I always win these arguments?

Well, if that isn't a 'tell'. :)

Again, for Ish and It's a discussion with no winners or losers; for you, it has to be about being right which means you're gonna be wrong more often than right. I already have degrees in Computer Science and Mathmatics as well as being a former jarhead, Ish was actually a scientist. I appreciate your differing views, but I'm not here to "defeat" them or take coup...

The only thing it tells is that you're my intellectual and moral bitch.

Neither of you have answered my original challenge. Show me your science. Where is it, big boys? Pony up.

The Rainforests as CO2 trap myth has been exploded.

Grass does a far better job than trees and expanding tropical climb means more Dominican Republics and maybe some decent Tobacco out of Florida...

Global warming is such an inconvenient truth, no?

This thread is a good example of slash and burn debating. No facts, just smart ass remarks about a problem, or an alleged problem.

To say the US is powerless regarding any subject in our world is pretty short sighted.

There was a time when doctors advertised cigarettes, promoting their heatlhy attributes....

Ismael was a scientist, so obviously his word is law. Cap'n has a degree in computer science. SO there you go. Two scientific opinions.

As was pointed out twice now. These two practice slash and burn debating, it's just not worth the effort since neither would admit that they were mistaken on an issue. They would rather get indignant, call you names and then ignore you when they can't actually back up an argument.

Since we're moving into slightly more dialectical territory, then :)

Having the degree is meaningless if you don't do something with it. My daddy couldn't put me through college. You trollishly posted your flawed interpretation of an article on climate change, and you committed the egregious academic sin of allowing your personal biases to cloud your reading of it. You tried to enforce an idea, and failed to back it up. Meanwhile, "scientist" Ish is too busy snapping the keyboard towel to actually use his credentials to say something serious. If he has the academic credentials, great. But he doesn't act like it.

So meanwhile, without guys like me, all you're going to do is post back and forth with Ishmael, stroking yourselves silly on your own half-cocked dialectic godliness. Neither of you obviously can handle facts, so you resort to sound bites and opinions in formulating your arguments. I'm C-SPAN, you're FOX.

Please. I insist. Prove me wrong, I can live with that. But don't waste my time with cheap boasting.

Eating is healthy too T. Especially for a starving family.

Sooo, who's supposed to step in and take control of Brasils developement? Or possibly Viet Nam, or Burma (or whatever they're calling themselves today), or India?

Seems to me that American intervention is called for in ANY instant that doesn't require anything related to security.

In any event, other than jawboning there isn't a lot to be done.

I love these dudes that hate the power of the federal government but advocate a defacto totalitarian world government.

Most people with degrees are able to spell their purported majors correctly.
