Endless Ends

I live in low key terror that something will go wrong with the septic tank and/or leech field. It’s like background radiation, always there, not doing any harm, but you’re aware of it.
The Farm's stuff is old. The septic a simple type no longer used that our plumber says rarely gives any trouble. The leech field on the other hand, well . . . it's also old. 🤣

That, combined with a few years of drought and oak trees was an issue waiting to happen. Though, after much stomping and discussion it may be that the pipe has collapsed. We think it was run in the early nineties, so that would not be all that surprising.

However! There is a newer system out that is supposed to work better and be significantly more cost effective. An integrative something thingy something.

That would be the technical name. :p

I am a Raymond Chandler fan.

Both the books and the Marlowe movies. I had not, however, read any of the Chandler short stories.

It's been surprising to see how many of his novels are composites of previous short stories! Yes, it's not uncommon to see that occasionally with an author, but considering Chandler's limited output it seems . . . like a lot.

Try the Girl and Mandarin's Jade both show up in Farewell, My Lovely.

Killer in the Rain and The Curtain for The Big Sleep.

(The ending of The Curtain was a little horrifying. 😳)

It's interesting to see how much his writing fleshed out in the few years between publications.

Did you know that outhouses are legal in TX ??

Legal with NSF approval. No permit is required for single-family usage in counties with less than 40,000 people.

Eh, soon it will be the law of AI. You’ll be controlled by the chip in your head and have no choice. :p
Oh! Oh! This reminds me of Heinlein's The Puppet Masters where they had telephonic surgical implants behind an ear, close to the bone to conduct sound.

. . . . . .

Actually, this has no bearing on what we were talking about.

Nevermind. :p

What a floopy day. *thunk*

I have surgery Thursday(not serious) and it has me all discombobulated. I hate being anesthetized and at the mercy of some knife wielding maniac. Even if they now do anything short of heart surgery in these fancy little non-hospital surgery centers.

Okay. So maybe it's laser rather than the knife these days.

Okay. And the surgery centers are practically like spas.

I still don't wanna. *pouts*

AND

Tomorrow I've been collared to hack a path through to an abandoned house.

*crosses fingers the snakes are asleep*

BUT

I found a movie called Werewolf Santa to laugh my way through as I convalesce. 😎

Life is simply a system of ANDs and BUTs. :p

I'd hate to know what not significantly more cost effective looks like. 🤣
What about an incinerator toilet?
I’m not sure that’s a great option, but I find them interesting.

At least you will be anesthetized, sometimes they keep you awake! 🤢🤢🤢

You should ask them to keep you under for 8 hours after the procedure, so you can have a nice restful sleep. 😁
