Both sound too acidic, and charcoal dust might be too gritty. I'd have to try it to be sure and my SO does not have an oral fetish so I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I'd probably avoid charcoal dust. Sounds like sand in places it doesn't belong, and maybe harder to clean out?

Every time we talk our conversations get weirder and weirder, you notice that?

You do that intentionally?

I do that all the time, but I am disappointed every time that nothing pours into my mouth. Then I look at it and say, "I will make myself some more tea after I finish writing this scene."

This happens at least once a scene for pages and pages of writing. Each time I'm surprised, then pissed at myself for forgetting, yet again.

What model do you have? Noise-cancelling headphones are only as good as how they sit on your head. If you have over-the-ear ones, check to make sure there isn't a gap in the seal between your face and the cups. This is particularly difficult if you wear glasses since those add another potential reason the cups are not sitting correctly.

I can't speak for in-ear headphones because I do not like the feel of things sitting in my ear canal.

Right now using JBLs but have also used BOSE in the past. BOSE were better but even they couldn't mask 100% of all background noise.

And yeah I'm not a fan of ear buds either. I much prefer over the ear.

When I first started wearing them, there was still sound bleeding in, but I figured out that it was because my glasses were pushing them away slightly from my face, leaving a small gap between the cups and my face. When I take my glasses off or use contacts and let the cups sit flush, I can't hear a thing. I've taken them on the NYC Subway, Washington Metro and Philadelphia SEPTA in the last six months and they still blocked everything.

I’ve had a Wi-Fi issue recently that initially looked like a similar problem, but in the end the solution was to disable the separate 5Ghz network in the router. Macs and other Apple devices are apparently finicky when you’ve got the same name for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks; my Android phone never had problems.

Sometimes improved venting keeps down the temperature of the processor. Take an aspirin if symptoms persist.

I wear glasses, and it helps me to have light music playing through the headphone speakers (Bluetooth from my iPhone). Tends to overcome the disturbances bleeding through from outside.
