Trump's second term has been a major disappointment. Zero legislative accomplishments. Deportations are slow af. No significant DOGE cuts. No-one prosecuted worth speaking of. MTG is representative of a lot of former MAGA people who are dropping out. In the same day, Trump celebrates Marjorie Greene's retirement as "great for America" and lauds the new Communist mayor in New York as having "great ideas". This is completely on Trump. He bullied one of his strongest supporters into resignation because she expressed her own opinions. This kind of demand for unbridled loyalty is sick.

The midterms will be ugly af for Republicans with a wipe-out coming. 3 years of lame duck to go and after he mid-terms there'll be a major move to impeach the asshole - and THIS time he deserves it. I doubt many Republicans will fight too hard this tme around. It's better that he goes.

The BBB which will kick in in 2026. GDP growth is increasing with many of the BBB bill not even fully engaged yet. Tariffs are being adjusted downward to ease inflation on food products.

Deportations are slow af.

Don't blame Trump for activist judges throwing roadblocks at every attempt Trump takes to deport illegals.

No significant DOGE cuts.

You have a split congress and democrats that have voted against every republican initiative. More activist judges throwing roadblocks in the way.

No-one prosecuted worth speaking of.

Prosecuting top officials takes time. You have to make sure the cases are solid.

MTG is representative of a lot of former MAGA people who are dropping out.

I'm not convinced on that. 2026 bbb kicks in, wages will go up much faster than inflation. Tariffs will level out, fuel prices and its affect on the economy will be very positive. Tax breaks will be in full gear and will be felt by all. There will be a full on blitz to promote economic growth. Trump is winning in the courts.

plus, her resigning at that time isn't only financially astute for her but is a clear nod to Jan. 6th; it also makes it problematic for the republican majority when it comes to voting. Losing her vote at that time means a gap where a replacement has to be found. It is probably the most damaging date she could find to quit. Will she attempt a run for president in the future? It's a possibility as she is still more favoured by the magats than vance is.

Doge cuts .... like cutting $1,000,000,000 annual (!) subsidies (ie not counting tax breaks which almost same thing) to oil (!) companies?

She's realistic enough to recognize that Trump has an extraordinarily short shelf life remaining, that's he'll likely be dead before next Independence Day, and mostly that she understands she has an even smaller role in the Vance administration than she does now (which has been notably diminished in Trump's second term).

The press is eviscerating her in interview after interview, hammering her with statements she's made over the last 7-8 years. To Greene's credit, she is readily accepting both fault and blame for her extremist positions, and this perception of "weakness" makes the mainstream media circle her like sharks...this something that has not been seen in a long time, so it's "new".

A Democratic congresswoman from Florida was recently indicted for some business related fraud issue, so I suspect MTG’s business could also have been under scrutiny.
