New Pinned Thread "Story Pending For More Than 72 Hours."

For a second there, I was trying to reconceptualize you as your Mother’s uncle, but now I realise that he’s just a fan of your stories.

Alarm bells are still tinkling. I’m thinking that the Halloween comp will be a major stress test - if they’re able to get through such a high profile event okay, maybe there’s hope.
So far Halloween Competition stories seem to be being added with no issues

I submitted stories, both chapter 2s, at the end of August. They sat in pending for over a month and, I resubmitted because maybe something was wrong. Still been in pending now for 9 days... How long are we waiting?

... How long are we waiting?
That's the really frustrating part of this business. No one can be sure of anything. How long to wait before pulling and resubmitting? Will it work? How long will the resubmitted story sit there? I got lucky, and my resubmitted story was published within 2 days, but others have been less fortunate, for no reason anyone can figure out. It's driving those affected crazy, especially now with this big deal Halloween story contest running.

Laurel's message said don't touch/click on it in pending - give it 15 days.

I would say when you hit 15 days in pending, delete it completely and submit as a New Story - add a Note to Admin stating that your story sat in pending from (date) to (date) and as that exceeded the 15 days advised, you are deleting and resubmitting as a New Story.

No point in PM'ing Laurel - she is likely being deluged with PM's on this issue.

Personally, I deleted mine and resubmitted after 7 days and it went thru at that point. It seems only a subset of stories are not making it through,

I still see them as well. You have to click on the gear in the story list to get the option. It is not available by clicking on the story itself.

I submitted my story on September 17. That was four weeks ago. Nothing has happened since then, and it is still pending. I've already published 71 stories on Literotica, so I'm not a new author. Publication has taken a week before, but never this long.
From the discussion, I gather the most sensible thing to do at this point would be to delete the story and resubmit it completely. Or should I keep waiting as they currently have a large number of submissions for the Halloween contest to process?

My recommendation after 4 weeks would be delete and resubmit

go to your Control Panel, go to Help, select New Feedback and create a Feedback form - open a Bug Report as well - like I've been saying, the more tickets they get the more visibility for the problem.

Laurel's message said wait 15 days. I would give it that, then Delete completely and put it in AGAIN as a new story submission with a Note to Admin.

3 weeks now after resubmitted...

I've PM'd Laurel and Manu and asked for some sort of update on the Pending story issue that we can share but Literotica has never been great on communicating on these things. We can but hope.

I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m starting to lose both hope and patience.

I have three stories pending review for over a month now, with no indication of why they haven’t been approved or rejected.

This situation is keeping me from posting the final part of my first story on Literotica and has created a huge delay compared to other platforms, where the last chapter of that same story has been live since September 16.

The site is great and has an amazing reader base, but the lack of communication really kills the enthusiasm…

I just deleted and resubmitted both stories again yesterday. I'll see how this goes. this time I removed all the em dashes and messed up my grammar a bit because it may be an AI filter issue?

Maybe they should address the issue. It's been like this over a year. It used to be simple within 72 hours I would have my stories published, now it's pretty consistent they're stuck pending for long periods. I have a decent body of work and generally rated well.

Been using this site over 20 years, but the problems publishing are pushing me to find alternatives.

I came here to see why my story submitted Oct 27th wasn't up yet, I guess I have some waiting to do.

Its wild, how it's slowed down recently. Never had this issue in my two years prior, till the last few months.

I feel kinda ridiculous creating this thread, but I wanted to call out something that sorta gets buried toward the bottom, for those that might miss it:

"If your story is not in your Pending Stories folder, Drafts Folder, Sent Back folder and has been pending for fewer than 15 days, please do not click on or alter the submission in any way as that will further delay its publication."
It seems that the act of merely CLICKING on a pending story will shoot one's pending story back to the bottom of the review queue. Interestingly, this tracks with my experience, when I'd submitted edits for two existing stories at the same time. #1 went through as expected (~15 days), while #2 languished in pending (I'd dumbly clicked on #2, but DIDN'T SAVE an edit).

I've published 25 stories with no problem over the past couple of years. But I now have a new story stuck in Pending for eight weeks! Yeah 8 weeks! I've sent in a couple of inquiries directly to Literotica and no response and no movement on my story.
I've seen many stories published by authors I follow in the past two months so I don't know why they won't look at mine. I don't know what to do.
In the meantime I'm looking around for an alternative naughty story site and there are quite a few!
I kinda hate to leave Literotica so if anyone has a suggestion to nudge my story along I'd lover to hear it.

Delete and repost.

It will come through. Something happened a couple of months ago.
