Metal is by far my favorite material.

Once in a while I also like an adjustable one. I do not like the stretchy silicone rings. There probably exists a size and elasticity which I could appreciate, but I'm not trying to try 100 different ones. None of the ones I have tried fit right, and, unlike metal, with silicone it's not just a matter of diameter and thickness. The elasticity affects how it feels and how it performs. It's hard to say because everyone is sized differently, and even the relative sizes of someone's nut diameter vs. their cock-root diameter vs. their cock-shaft diameter aren't exactly standardized or consistent.

But if I were you, then if possible, go down by, say, 1/4" at a time. If 1.75" is big enough to use the way you described, then I imagine you might get down to 1 and 3/8" before finding some really powerful effects, erection wise.

That's a hard size to find. You might have better luck trying to order metric sizes, which often come in 5mm increments. You're at something like 45mm now. You can easily find a 40mm to try, and 1 3/8" is just a hair bigger than 35mm, also easy to find.

You might even be able to find them in 2mm increments, though these will probably be rings with a thin, circular cross-section rather than rings with thick and flat cross-sections. The latter are a lot more comfortable when they fit tightly and can feel the constriction when you swell inside them.

I found searching online to purchase a decent correctly sized metal ring so much more of a challenge than buying a dildo or even a pair of shoes. And costly if you get the sizing wrong. Most online stores won’t accept returns if it’s been worn due to hygiene reasons. Fair enough, I don’t think I’d be wanting to buy a second hand ring.
