The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Shared screwing. Same thing happened after a few tornadoes. Lady down the street got free siding and roof with minimal damage.... the insurance adjuster according to her didnt even vone out because of all the claims people filled out.... in other end of street 30 yr old roof damaged on a shack and they got full replacement of a metal roof.... and my pememiums raise
And adding insult to injury, the insurance companies can cry that it's "unprecedented!" stick their hands out and get Govt bailouts, to replace the premiums they collected and squandered for years.

Yes Ma'am (but I used BC Powder) which, in my younger years, I would have everything set up on my nightstand, including a rock glass of water.
Nowadays, I just embrace the hangover, or have another shot. 🤣
I had two hangover cures…OK, three. The alka-seltzer, I’d down the night of/right before the drink’n. Sometimes just a glass of milk a few hrs before to, you know, coat the stomach! The Gooody’s Powder was the backup in case the first two didn’t work the day after! 😂

Daily PSA -
After all of the firefighting training I've been through, (mostly for ships, but they apply anywhere) there's two main takeaways
1. You DON'T want one, so prevent them.
2. If you have one, you want ALL of your equipment working properly.
#2 only works assuming you have equipment

So spend a bit and get the 2-pack fire extinguisher and maybe a fire blanket, too.

Put one extinguisher in the kitchen - easy to reach. Don't bury it behind a bunch of crap under the sink.

Then put a post-it on the fridge because different fires need different tools (i.e. you don't hit a grease fire or lithium battery fire* with water).

If you have a lot of lithium battery stuff in the house, you may want a metal bucket and sand. If the fire is small and it's safe to do so: Smother it with the sand then take it outside away from anything flammable and call your local FD for assistance.

*technically, certain types of lithium batteries can be cooled by water but there are serious risks. The fumes are toxic and the combination can create hydrofluoric acid. If this isn't your field or you don't have training, err on the side of caution - then "phone a friend" (i.e. your local fire department) for assistance

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

the insurance adjuster according to her didnt even vone out because of all the claims people filled out.
Hopefully now they've started using drones.
They can survey whole neighborhoods without a single ladder. Heck, they don't even need to get out of their car except for take off and landing.

My company has "discontinued the product line" (aka my insurance policy) and will have a replacement policy (i.e. much, much higher rates expected) for me soon (i.e. next 10 days when my current policy expires).

Original BC Powder -
Active Ingredients are Aspirin (856mg) and Caffeine (65mg)
Extra Strength BC Powder -
Active Ingredients are Acetaminophen (500mg), Aspirin (500mg) and Caffeine (65mg)

Goody's Powder -
Active Ingredients are Acetaminophen (325 mg), Aspirin (500mg) and Caffeine (65mg)

Both contain fillers and maybe artificial sweeteners, too.

Alka-Seltzer Plus -
Active Ingredients are:
Acetaminophen - NSAID
Dextromethorphan - cough supressant
Chlorpheniramine - antihistamine
Phenylephrine - nasal decongestant

Some formulations of Alka-Seltzer Plus may also contain: Aspirin, Guaifenesin (an expectorant), and Doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine and sedative)

If mixing the BC or Goody's Powder with Alka Seltzer Plus you are stacking Acetaminophen.

You would be better off with Alka-Seltzer Original or Alka-Seltzer Hangover Relief which don't have acetaminophen if mixing with either of the powders - just to avoid taking too much acetaminophen.

Okay - time to nap now
With the first appointment of the day I only got about 2-3 hours sleep last night.

Note to self: Afternoon probe is the way to go!
You have to take the full day off anyhow, so schedule later and do that 2nd half prep after you're awake for the day. You'll still attend the 3am Club (and maybe a couple more) from the 1st half prep anyhow. 📝

Wat's Old School Hangover Remedy:

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. When you stagger in the door, find and drink (at least) a quart of water. Most of the discomfort is caused by dehydration.

Before a night of Heavy Drankin' (misspelling intentional), eat spaghetti. It comes up easily and it's colorful.

If you're that fucking hung over, two shots of 80-proof will take the edge off.

I was stacking NSAIDS in the old days, nowadays, it's another shot... one of the perks of this line of work, my days off are consecutive days off. I didn't have that on dry land.
If I want to sit on the patio, drink moonshine for breakfast and shoot coyotes, I can. Heck, that kinda sounds like a good retirement plan! 🤣

It's a racket, no doubt.
