Sounds like loads of great music!Morning everyone. I was locked out of Lit for several months simply for trying to change my password and profile.
Formerly known as Kent London, it's good to be back.
Knowing the probable age range of most people here, I thought I'd share this post that I just published on another thread.
My wife and I enjoyed a brilliant hour or two last night watching Greatest Hits Of 1975 on the BBC. It was the year we met so nearly every song brought back some special memories:
10CC, Bowie, BeeGees, Bay City Rollers, Bob Marley, SuperTramp, Glen Campbell, Wings, Cockney Rebel, Stylistics, Helen Reddy, Barry Manilow, KC and The Sunshine Band, Dana, loads of soul bands, the gorgeous Patti LaBelle, plus Franki Valli, who is apparently still performing at 91 ....
My brother, now 77, was a bass player in three different bands on the south coast so I contacted him on Facebook and we exchanged some fun messages throughout the programme. He, of course, talked about Paul McCartney and his switch from a Hofner bass to a Rickenbacker, and then back again!
Everyone was much slimmer in those days!
And we all had long hair and wore flared trousers!
And we understood all the lyrics.
Oh, I forgot to mention the early iteration of Kraftwerk and their wildly experimental early move into techno!
Wonderful times.
I forgot those. And yes those were wonderful simple times. The best times!!
Forts made out of pillows and couches and chairs.
Box forts!
Good morning OM and all of you fine Spoonies!Morning everyone!View attachment 2572058
I am so sorry for your loss, Noor.I remember when we first met decades ago, tall, shy, but certain. Gorgeous thick straight black hair, great smile with a twinkle in Your eyes when you laughed. Your work was amazing. I explained the system and you followed it. I could trust you and I knew at some point we would be friends And we did, you became part of my family.
Over the years, we were there for each other, filled in each other’s gaps, when I was having trouble finding a place, you said I could live with you, you helped me with every moved, checked out every guy and I handled the things you couldn’t. We liked the same music, food, and hanging out just chatting on the back porch or the garage in the evenings. You worked for me and I worked for you. When I didn’t have a credit card and needed one, you gave me yours to use. We were friends and I never thought the end would come so soon. It’s still just hitting me that we won’t talk or see each other when I get home, that we won’t laugh again.
I keep remembering the day you came running toward my car as I was backing out yelling “ I love you! ( pause) but not like that,” us laughing and people staring. I loved you too, although I never said it, I think you knew. Rip.
I thought this was Saturday...
No shit!!!
Happens to me all the time... they fit fine in the store, but NOT 12 hours into a day.
Thank you so much!
I'll drive... and you two can... have a rumble in the rear![]()
Thanks! We try to help each other out.
They often send down plate lunches etc...
3. Because we really don't "fit in" elsewhere.![]()
Yeah. Fuckoffistan probably already has a mayor!![]()
Which team?Sorry I was watching a Hockey game.. My Favourite team lost..
Oh, fuck! You ok?
Spoons.
The bass spoons.
Or did I just join spoon?? Or is spooning my favorite position?
Again… I’m very confused.
