For a laptop.. I've always been a windows girl and I'm thinking about converting to Apple..any comments

Mac is far more expensive initially but OSx is less vulnerable than Windows and has less of the data harvesting BS Microsoft has, but Mac hardware isn't as bullet proof as it was in the past and unless you are going to using it for music or video production, general personal use windows will meet your needs with lower cost for the same level of computing power. Apple will also for the most part, just work. And a low end mac book air is close in price to a mid range windows machine. So it comes down to what system you are more comfortable with and how much you want to spend
