What’s your most controversial opinion?

Ancient in the way that nothing (much - I do personally like the “react” and new PM system 💗) has been modernized or streamlined and I’m not complaining. I’m sort of into the ancient category as a whole 😋
Back in the Lit days of Yore i preferred it, not having a like / haha/ button people tended to write an answer which to me was a better form of communication, but Hey Ho lol

With basically everyone connected to social networks I think governments need to revise their freedom of speech laws (for those countries that have free speech). People should be held accountable for starting and spreading false information, if it can be shown that it is demonstrably false then the law should be able to prosecute and sentence the people responsible, this should include anyone that reposts false information.

I exclude the US from this argument for obvious reasons.

No mercy for those who do it in good faith?

My opinions aren't controversial anymore. They are 100% fact. Just like a bad marriage where divorce is the only way for both sides to survive...the same is true for some Countries.

No. People need to take responsibility for what they do, the argument "but how was I to know" shouldn't be an excuse. I believe by doing this it will force people to evaluate the type of information they want to spread and take more care in doing it.
Well, a big amount of problems would arise if your wish to came true, but I bet you already know that.

I’m honestly surprised there are not more libel and slander lawsuits in the US about the misinformation spread through social media. Being a highly litigious society with a lot of lawyers who like money, it would seem these would be easy cases to bring to settlement.

Because of section 230 of the communications decency act.

Dogs should poop in their own gardens.
I don't want to watch you pick it up. Then carry it around in a bag like an accessory, and I don't want to see it just left there. Dog owner's train your dogs to poop in their own garden.

Don't get me started on cat owners

People adoring CURRENT service people on Veterans Day.
That day is the Saturday before Memorial Day weekend!

Universal equality had tremendous momentum in the first world (during the 90's, early 2000's) until the internet and social media allowed basement dwelling introverts to find a tiny amount of like-minded, insecure weasels to share their unsubstantiated hate. That small, insignificant group of guys found comfort that emboldened them.
