The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

*tosses a load of designer dishes filthy with dreck out the window and giggles madly as they shatter on the concrete below*
When I was in the AF washing dishes while pulling KP we would throw dishes on the floor to see how many times they would bounce, We were punch crazy from working 18 hrs. a day for two weeks. I also learned to juggle plates.

Cool article. I never knew this.

And the ghost of general Reynolds too.

I maybe have been there. I think once we drove feom30 on the east side of the river up to Harrisburg and thru Steelton and past three mile island.
Funny and this is how old I am. I did some work at Three Mile Island while it was being built. You were close to Columbia if you drove on 30. I lived in and around Lancaster most of my life and somehow stumbled onto the burning of the Wrightsville bridge, I had never heard of it.

My dad built the boilers on Three Mile! He worked for Babcock&Wilcox at the time and I remember he was gone all spring and summer! Y’all probably crossed paths. His running joke was, we built the boilers, they didn’t break! It was the computers. 🤣

Aye! miss a day and trying to catch up on a dozen pages. We’re prolific posters if nothing else!

Good to see RJ back and so sorry to hear about Lady K. 🥲. I’m glad both are on the mend. Prayers going out to you brother🙏🏻

Trying reason with Hurricane Season🙄. Spent a large part of yesterday getting Momma’s generator on line and basically battening down the hatches. She was going to get that home Gen system put in but then her med issues took precedence and so we’re back to the Husky/Subaru 5000 (a damn fine Gen if you can find one).

Upside was I got to spend quality time with my son and granddaughter, and the grey visiting cat who I was excitedly told chased a snake off property the day before!

My gen is waiting, got a pallet of water just in case, and getting some extra food…just in case. All the models have the thing getting close but doing a 90degree turn back out to sea. Fingers crossed!🤞

Morning Z is morning Music today…anytime the wind picks up, a weather eye is cast to sea…

Good Lord I remember those KP duty days! Long days and punch drunk…would just laugh hysterically at the silliest things.

I worked on the instrumentation in the lags they used to test the concrete. They tested the concrete on every pour. I have worked with Babcock&Wilcox boilers but mostly out in California.

Jimmy truly had a way with lyrics! Especially those early albums. My favorite quote from him came from his first novel ironically…”this book contains factual fictions, and fictional facts,” or something along those lines…

My life summed up in a phrase! 🤣.

“Liv’n my life like a song”…close second!

My absolute favorite musical artist, author, and storyteller ! Miss him all the time.

That's what we have Out West, too. Take good care of them (no "garbage" disposals and certainly no "flushable" baby wipes) and they can last a good long time.
We have them on boats too and they are called a MSD unit (Marine Sanitation Device) which is very sensitive to bleach, chemicals, and any undigestable materials.
During the Alaska voyage, despite 3 warnings that they were plugging up my MSD with disinfectant wipes, flooding my machinery space with shit, they continued doing so.
The last time I had to unstop it, at lunchtime, I carried them all up and sat them on the galley table, saying "You'll listen now MFrs!"
