The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Today was a great day on the trail and on the road. Started off realm nice.

Then we made our way to the east side of the Grand Canyon of PA. I’ve always wanted to go there, so a semi bucket list.

Then we went to the west side of the canyon. Gorgeous!

We stumbled upon a cool museum. The Pennsylvania lumber museum. The museum was cool but they had a real working sawmill and outside stuff too.

Then we just drove thru the Allegheny National forest to Kinzua viaduct. It was a huge railroad trestle that got hit by a tornado and they made it into a a tourist attraction. Pretty impressive!

Alaska is fabulous. We did a week inland at Denali then the cruise south from Valdez. Be sure to get a cabin land side for the views.

We had booked for Antarctica next year and they pulled the ship so I won’t be using that company ever. We are off to Japan instead.

Lastly Panama Canal transit is amazing. I spent the whole time on deck watching the ship being navigated with inches to spare. It is hot and humid but worth it. Then watch the cliff divers in Acapulco.
I've seen the cliff divers! It's amazing what they do!

Our trip has gone off course a bit - which is the way I like it. The original idea was to to follow US Route 6 across Pennsylvania. Turns out Route 6 is actually a pretty busy road so we’ve been using finding these little roads that basically go parallel. But there’s no such thing as parallel bcz of all of the mountains. It’s been great.

We got to our destination last night by meandering our way thru mountain passes, farm fields, and tiny little towns.

We did find Route 6 in Towanda NY (which we renamed LaFawnda - from Napoleon Dynamite) And found this super throwback diner. So cute. Had a great lunch (and a milkshake) and chatted with locals.

Then we got back on the back roads and meandered to the Grand Canyon of PA which is much larger than I thought it would be. Lots of good hiking. We got out 10k steps in yesterday for sure!

Can’t really see it but the trees are really starting to change.

Today we’re exploring the Grand Canyon some more, then driving about 100 miles west to do some more hiking.

And yeah- I’m going to the PA Lumber museum. 😂 I’ve got wood.
What a wonderful trip! You're making good memories! 🥰

My mother has a Cuckoo clock we brought her when we lived there 30+ yrs ago. Something has gone wrong with it…I might as well throw that in with my other clock project. That one worries me, as it has to a have a thousand moving parts. My grandmother had one that my aunt (same one I inherited the grandfather clock from) brought her from when they lived in France in the 50’s. It was a big one and had a stags head with antlers as the centerpiece. After she died it “disappeared”…have no clue which thieving cousin nabbed it.

Morning all. All frustrations will be taken out on clay targets and paper downrange today! Beautiful day for it. In the 60’s for the ride and probably top out around 81. Everyone have a great day!

MZ will be the old country this week…we’ll start with the area me ancestors prowled…in their kilts….

I'm eager to see how your clock projects go. You can be my tutor when I'm ready! 🥰

Years ago I had to drive 3 counties away for a work training. On the way, it started to rain and one of my wipers came partially detached. Was still hanging on the arm, but wasn't doing diddly for clearing the windshield. I was early for the training and someone there mentioned an O'Reilly's store not too far away.

When I got there, they were open but not too busy. The employee came out, in the now pouring rain to take a look. Thankfully it just needed to be attached properly, not replaced. He took the time to show me how to attach it and didn't charge me anything!!

I've been a huge fan ever since!

There's an AutoZone near my house. When I blew a headlight and my mechanic couldn't get me on the schedule for a few weeks, I stopped there and asked. They looked up the bulb I needed, walked me to the shelf, helped me decide which one to get... then he installed it for me. No charge for anything but the bulbs. No labor charge at all! I got both headlights replaced for the same cost as what a single replacement would cost at the mechanic's. 😍

Will I maybe need to wait a few minutes if they're busy? Yes, but worth it IMO!
That's good service!

What an amazing trip idea!!
Want to go with me?

I give away most of my baking, too. I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Most of my sweet recipes have at least one ingredient I need to avoid nowadays. I'm low on receivers these days though. 🤷‍♀️
Take it to any police or fire station. I can pretty much guarantee they will take your goodies!

We'll help get you started...
WE LOVE YOU, MISSK 😍
We so love Miss K! 💕💖💞

Do you see a wild mustang being chased by a bear that just barely escaped the clutches of a mountain lion?
Just me?
Cool, cool  :ROFLMAO:
I didn't before but now I totally do! 🤯
